Tomorrow is the big day, with WWDC 2009 kicking off and Apple getting ready to announce the next-gen iPhone and hopefully a netbook. Till then, we’ve got an ultra-thin
iPhone concept on our hands, probably the last next-gen design we’ll be seeing before the real thing.
It’s actually a pretty hot piece of gadgetry, but it’s very unlikely that the device launched tomorrow will look anything like this.

The touchscreen looks a tad larger than the one on the average iPhone and I wonder how much battery life would such a thin handset provide… It may sound weird, but an ultra-slim phone like this is very likely to be dropped, specially if it’s glossy, as it tends to become slippery.

We’ve shown you tons of
Apple concepts lately, most of them being futuristic iPhones or netbooks that have what it takes to make it to the market. This time, we’ve come across a MacBook concept, designed by Tommaso Gecchelin and bearing the name of MacBook Touch. This tablet-like PC is malleable and it relies on flexible OLED technology.

The device is based on a technology called iSpine, resembling the spine of a book, in order to avoid screen compression. Thus, the display will be able to sit in multiple positions, while the laptop is in use. For example, you’ll be using a normal laptop with a display and touchscreen keyboard, passing to a widescreen canvas afterwards, if you want to draw or watch movies.
Another interesting idea is the implementation of the power, mini display and USB ports on a “Magic Dock”, that’s been created as an exterior component, that you’ll see in the one of the images below.

Yes, we’ve seen MANY
Apple netbook concepts till now, but we’ll never get enough, at least till we see the real thing (this summer maybe?). The latest such concept was created by Adam Benton for
MacFormat and looks like an oversized iPhone running iPhone OS 3.0.

The Home directory of the device will be stored via an Apple cloud server, while frequently used files will be cached locally. You’ll be able to charge the netbook via a dock and it’ll also connect to tons of other gizmos and gadgets via USB and FireWire ports. There’s also 3G connectivity on board, allowing you to sync with Apple servers, plus a Bluetooth A2DP audio profile.
In case you don’t dig the virtual keyboard, there’s always the option of pairing a hardware keyboard via Bluetooth, as seen in the image below.

While many of us are hoping and waiting for a new MacBook, maybe even an
Apple netbook to get launched this summer, together with the new iPhone, concepts are starting to surface, portraying the future of the MacBook series. This time we’re dealing with the Mac Folder, designed by Tryi Yeh and this device is a pretty hot netbook.

Mac Folder comes with a reworked UI based on the ones used on the iPod Touch and iPhone, a multi-touch screen and a very, very slim case.
I’m ready to bet that the display is something like 8.9 inches, considering the size and placement of the keys, but the netbook is surely a looker, so we hope it’ll reach production or at least Apple will borrow some of its traits.

Apple has something hot ready for this summer, that’s for sure, but will the rumoured netbook manage to impress us and challenge the Eee PCs to a duel? Till the time of its launch, we have a look at the
Apple netbook concept below, created by Wendy Lui, from the Retrevo team.

Turns out that this futuristic netbook will feature a gestured-based touchpad, a neat camera, a GPS, an accelerometer, stereo speakers and even a 3.5mm jack. Now, let’s guess the size of the display… Classic 10 inch? Less? Touchscreen, anyone?

We’ve shown you a
MacBook Nano concept and even a hot
iNetbook design a while back, but now we’re being treated to a very fine piece of gadgetry: the Apple Netbook, MacBook Mini. Designed by Isamu Sanada, this great portable device packs a full QWERTY keypad, a 10 inch LED display and even a trackpad, placed on a foldable segment.

MacBook Mini is just 5.4 inches thick when folded and it incorporates a 128GB SSD, but it lacks the optical drive some might be hoping for. I could see this as a pretty decent multimedia device, but also one meant for business men and journalists.
Even gamers might get a kick out of using it. If it weren’t for the thickness, I’d be MacBook Mini’s number one fan.

Truth be told, we love the MacBook, as for the iPhone… well it’s a decent phone after all, but is there something in between them? I mean a non-laptop, non-phone device? Shrink the MacBook, give it an iPhone-style design and you’ve got an “iNetbook”. Can you feel the fear, Eee PC?

This mockup, concept or whatever you want to call it started out as a hint, right from the mouth of Steve Jobs, who talked about the netbook market and claimed that Apple has “some pretty interesting ideas if it does evolve”. Should we expect to see a touch tablet, an UMPC or a netbook?

Well, Apple’s got a MacBook-related announcement on October 14th (Tuesday), while NVIDIA will probably showcase new graphical chipsets for the same notebooks on Wednesday, but Monday is also a day you’d want to remember. Turns out it’ll be the day when the iPhone meets your portable PC and it’s there to stay… embedded in the device.

Or so claims OLO, a company that plans to launch a netbook that can incorporate your iPhone beneath its keyboard, right in the spot where you’d usually find a touchpad. OLO announced that it’ll launch this device on Monday, October 13th, but for now their netbook looks like a bad Photoshop… What do you make of it?
