iPad Gets Camera Via Concept Case Accessory

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Everyone wants a piece of that Facetime action on the iPhone 4 and some are not afraid to get it, as shown by the following iPad case concept. Created by Chet Rosales, this Apple tablet accessory is called iPad Cam-Case and it finally implements a camera on the famous slate.

Said camera can be rotated and used to capture the user’s face during a videochat session. You’ll find the video capture component in the corner of the case, working in both landscape and portrait views. The case relies on a rubber-plastic layer for extra grip.

Also, this accessory’s bottom half slides you can insert the iPad in it and there’s a port at the bottom for docking purposes.

iPhone of the Future Video Gives You Chills

If things are going the way they are, somewhere in 2030, your Apple handset might look something like this:

This is an incredible video with great effects and we really wonder if that “neural interface” can really be achieved. As you can see, in the fast-text-scrolling side of the video, the futuristic iPhone will be scratch-proof, it’ll sport a walkie-talkie feature, a GPS, an iPet function and “thought control”.

Is this viable?

iPod Shuffle2020, Portable Music Player of the Future

One such nifty initiative comes from José Ignacio Martínez, who created the very interesting iPod Shuffle2020, the portable music player of the year 2020. What’s surprising about this unit is that it comes with unlimited music and battery capacity.

The device is able to sync with iTunes via “G3 connection” each time it’s turned on, so the music will always be there and the same “G3 waves” will provide the energy to charge the player, keeping it forever functional. iPod Shuffle2020 relies on the HyperSoundSystem technology, that makes the ultrasound waves travel directly to the inner ear, so the user is not required to wear earphones.

Noise cancelling technology is also on board and we learn that we’ll have to slide a finger up or down the player’s touchpad to change the volume or song. iPod Shuffle2020 is an intuitive gadget, that supports multitouch and also talks to the users, telling them which song and artist they’re listening to.

iPhone 4 Unveiled at WWDC 2010; Still Less Impressive than iPhone Concepts

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.WWDC 2010’s first keynote has jus ended, with Steve Jobs introducing the brand new iPhone 4… not the iPhone 4G, not the iPhone HD. The device is everything we knew from the leaks and Gizmodo analysis, but the design it not at all surprising, specially when compared to these concepts.

iPhone 4 features 16GB or 32GB of memory, it comes in white or black and uses a 3.5 inch Retina display, with multitouch support and 960 x 640 pixel resolution at 326 dpi. This screen supports a 800:1 contrast ratio and its covered in a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. There’s also a 5 megapixel camera on board, with LED flash and the ability to capture HD 720p videos @30 fps.

Apple’s brand new iPhone uses a three-axis gyro, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor, as well. Of course, Bluetooth and WiFi are on board, as well as UMTS/HSDPA and GSM/EDGE. A front camera was also included and the battery provides 7 hours of 3G talk time, 300 hours of standby, 10 hours of video playback and 40 hours of audio playback. The CPU of choice is developed in-house, being the Apple A4.

Steve Jobs mentioned that iPhone OS 4 was turned into iOS 4, that comes with multitasking, an improved inbox and a couple of extra features, like iAd mobile advertising integration. What do you say? Is this what you imagined or you prefer concepts?

In half an hour of so, Steve Jobs will open WWDC 2010 and announce the brand new iPhone HD. This supposed iPhone 4G was present on our site a couple of times, as concepts an designs, plus we’ve shown you photos of the prototype an Apple employee lost a while back.

iWatch, an Apple Watch Concept Made by Antonio De Rosa

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Antonio De Rosa has created a couple of pretty interesting iPhone concepts before, but now he’s trying something new: an Apple watch. The iWatch design is pictured below and it comes with an alumium body, WiFi support and Bluetooth among others.

There’s also a RSS Reader on board, 16GB of internal memory, a weather forecast system and the possibility of connecting the watch with the iPad or iPhone via WiFi. Probably the most appealing feature of the Apple watch concept is the LCD projector it incorporates, able to show images (hopefully video, too) anytime and anywhere.

Great idea and hopefully we’ll see it turned into reality some day…

iPhone 4G Prototype Gets Turned Into a 3D Concept; Features 5MP Camera

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Seraphan’s latest iPhone 4G concept was the perfect occasion to break it to you: the new Apple handset will feature a 5 megapixel camera, as the folks of iSpazio have found out over here. Rumours and fresh info aside, what you’re looking at below is a 3D concept of the iPhone 4G prototype, designed by Seraphan.

This 64GB iPhone perfectly mimics the design of the prototype lost in an US bar in March by an Apple employee. As far as the camera at the back is concerned, it appears that LG Innotek will supply 5 megapixel sensors for the iPhone 4G, once it enters mass production.

iPod TiMPO Watchphone Looks Interesting

Created by Matthew Seibert, the iPod TiMPO features the same iPhone OS interface, a couple of front buttons, a Home button, a capacitive touchscreen display and wireless earbuds.

The wristband of this iPod watchphone is really cool and we’re really curious how this concept managed to escape the iPhone branding. I’d see a generation of kids wearing these devices around their wrists, with the advantage of the handset incorporating a microSD card slot. Let’s see if this becomes a real product in 10 years…

Now, the folks of ADR Studio have created an iPhone HD design, starting from the real device that was found in a pub, after being lost by an Apple employee. As you can see, the phone keeps the looks of the unit that leaked, complete with a videocall camera upfront and a camera with flash at the back.

Notice the slim new iPhone concept and its separate volume keys, plus the display, smaller than the one on the 3GS unit. We’re really curious to see if the iPhone 4G will sport 64GB of internal memory, as some have speculated and a more powerful CPU. It should, since its battery is 19% (some say 15%) larger…

Real iPhone 4G Prototype Lost in US Bar, Confirmed by Apple

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.If you’ve been living under a rock over the past week, you might not be familiar with the fact that an Apple employee, named Gray Powell. He had a couple of beers in the Gourmet Haus Staudt pub, in Redwood City and forgot his iPhone 4G prototype in the bar. The unit was found by a mystery person, hidden inside an iPhone 3GS case and handed over to Gizmodo, for $5000.

What followed is the logical tear down of the device, plus its analysis and tons of photos and videos shown by Gizmodo. Next, came a letter from Apple, requesting the unit back. What you should know about the real iPhone 4G prototype is that it comes with a flattened design, looking very much like some previous iPhone concepts you’ve seen on our site.

Also, the supposed iPhone HD comes with a front-facing videochat camera, an improved camera at the back (it has a bigger lens than the one on the 3GS), a camera flash, a micro SIM slot and an improved display. The latter is a tad smaller, but apparently its resolution is better, although this has yet to be proved.

The phone ran iPhone OS 4.0, but somehow, Apple managed to remotely kill the unit, after finding out that it has leaked. We also have to mention that the iPhone 4G prototype features a secondary mic for noise cancellation, placed at the top, next to the headphone jack. The volume buttons are now split and they, together with the power and mute buttons are all metallic.

The back of the handset is entirely flat, as you can see and we’re guessing it’s made of glass/ceramic or maybe shiny plastic, in order to allow the signal to get the max reception. There’s an aluminum border going around the outside of the phone and we have to mention that the unit is 3 grams heavier and its battery is 16% larger than the one of the 3GS.

Gizmodo’s dissection of the handset showed that the battery takes about 50% of the entire case space and the components inside are very tiny and fit perfectly in their place, so there’s no room for extras. No info on the processor or the main board, as it was sealed by Apple and tearing that part open would have damaged the handset.
