The original designer Mac Funamizu had an interesting idea of a lockscreen, inspired by the one on the MIUI software. He thought that the iPhone user should also do something fun when unlocking the screen, stuff like shooting a billiards ball or a bowling ball towards some upper screen area targets.

It’s always a pleasure to get ride of the routine of doing the same actions on a smartphone, I’ll give you that much. If you can find three variations of the action performed to unlock a device, then I’m sold. I guess that this is not at all hard to do, if you have some developing skills and mess with ROMs constantly…

After so many iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 designs comes an iPhone nano concept, that was created by Dallas Bradshaw. The new model is a tinier handset with iOS 5 on board and a Retina display. The specs below look more like the ones of the iPhone 5 to be honest.

iPhone nano will come in black and white, with 8, 16 or 32GB of internal memory, an Apple A5 dual core chip and 8 megapixel camera. There’s also 4G LTE support on the list, a slimmer design, improved speaker sound and iPod control soft buttons. I have to say that this design reminds me very much of the polycarbonate body that the Nokia N9 has…
The control area from the handset’s top side is very interesting and certainly a nice idea, so you won’t have to use the controls from the unlock screen thus saving power.

The latest iPhone 5 concept comes from Italy, courtesy of Antonello Falcone, an iSpazio user. He’s an art director in Torino and he based his idea on a bigger display, with a 4.6 inch diagonal and a potential future version of iOS, iOS 5.1.

This iPhone design uses a curved glass display, that reduces the thickness of the device to 8.4mm. On the side we have aluminum frames and a change from the iPhone 4 is the lack of a physical home button, that’s been replaced with a soft touch area. There’s also a dashboard widget on board, that works with the Notification Center.
With a single swipe from bottom to top, you’ll see a panel of widgets, that will be grouped using a transparent dock. The panel will be customizable and in case you’re wondering why these pictures here are so different, the first image above is the final version of the concept, with a 4.3 inch display. Also the camera at the back has been changed, since it resembled the one on Nokia N9 too much.

Right now the thinnest smartphone in the world is a model made by NEC, if I’m not mistaking, but the iPhone 5 concept below takes away the crown, thanks to its slim waistline. This model, made by Alternative Industries measures a mere 4mm in thickness and it looks impressive.

The handset incorporates an edge to edge screen, that actually eliminates the upper and lower edges as well. This iPhone concept integrates the SIM into the device and I’m guessing that we’re dealing with a 4 inch smartphone here, but it’s only speculation right now. With a waistline so thin, should we fear that this phone can break easily?

Who’d have thought that the iPad 3 would have a 3D display? And what about that Apple A6 quad core processor? These are all speculations, met under the shell of the following mockup: the blue iPad 3. I have no idea who created it, so please step up and claim your creation!

As far as this model is concerned, this design adopts the recent iPhone 5 speculations, so we’re dealing with an iPad with edge to edge display and lacking a Home button. Instead, we get 3D apps, a very thin chassis and supposedly an AMOLED screen. Let’s see Samsung supplying those after the conflict with Apple…
Will this iPad 3D come this Fall? I wouldn’t mind seeing it on the market in March 2012 as well, but who knows what the Cupertino giant lead by Steve Jobs is up to…

We’ve seen so many
iPhone 5 concepts that we can’t keep track of them, but now here’s a new one made by Michal Bonikowski. This new model doesn’t bring much of a change to the iPhone 4 and its design reminds me quite a bit of a combo between the iPad 2 and somehow the HTC HD7.

This iPhone 5 is an all metal handset, with an aluminum case, steel frame and most likely a Retina Display with a diagonal increase. Also, we learn that the key features have moved on from mechanical to sensory. I guess that only in September we’ll know how close Michal was to the real thing, but till then we have this concept to glance at.
I have to mention that it’s one of the few models not to adopt the edge to edge display idea, that has been extremely popular recently on iPhone concepts.

Antoine Brieux is back with a new concept, this time an iPhone 5 that comes with a new LED notifications panel on the front side of the handset. The camera lens gets a new position (near the edge of the back of the Apple phone), allowing the user to easily access the iOS 5 function of taking pictures with the volume up button.

This new iPhone concept comes with a single part casing, made of magnesium alloy, that makes the device very light and resilient. The iPhone 5 made by Antoine also gets a 4 inch Retina Display with a 1100 x 730 pixel resolution and 326 pixels per inch. At the back there’s an 8 megapixel camera with HD video capture and LED flash.
Under the hood, this new model features the dual core Apple A5 chip, used for multitasking, video editing and 3D Games. Overall, Antoine’s concept looks like a solid device and its rectangular shape is certainly something unusual in the world of smartphones, but I’m digging the rounded upper and lower side.

[Thanks Antoine]

Roman Vladimir Sima posted on Flickr his vision of the iPad 3 and iPhone 5, basing his concepts on a classy design with a glossy surface. No info on the specs of these iPad and iPhone designs, but I can see that the iPhone keeps the physical home button, unless I’m mistaking and the capacitive one stands out too much.

The front surface of the phone makes me think about the repeating rumors about the edge to edge display that we’ll see on the iPhone 5. It would be cool for the glossy surface to engulf the entire iPad 3 and iPhone 5, making it look like a block of elegant matter. No trace of other buttons on the side, at least not from where I’m standing.
Also, this model looks rather rectangular, so it’s not as rounded as some other iPhone concepts I’ve seen. Overall I dig this idea, but isn’t the glossy facade a sun magnet?

After seeing dozens of iPhone 5 concepts, one thing’s for sure: they have in common the edge to edge display. Even the latest leak of the device, coming as a bunch of screenshots from the SpeechTrans app shows such a design. Is it the real thing?

I suppose that this blog has quite a few expert eyes, ready to spot the fake, so go ahead and have your say. I believe it’s a pretty big fake, especially considering the Home button is cut up by the display’s image. Some graphics guy from the company making the app probably felt creative and expanded the app screenshot to cover the entire device.
This doesn’t mean that in the end the iPhone 5 won’t get an edge to edge display, so it could.

There’s got to be a trend with the LED notification lights on the future iPhone, since not so long after seeing this
iPhone 5 concept, there’s another one with the same function. This time, the iPhone 5 design comes from Kazi Shahriar Ahmed, who did a really fine job.

We’re dealing with an iPhone model with extended display, that covers most of the front surface of the device, almost to the point of being an “edge to edge” touchscreen. What’s really unique about this concept iPhone is the Home button, that’s got a LED lighting system, glowing white for notifications, green for charging and Red for low battery.
With the new iOS read to make the iPhone’s flash glow when notifications come, who knows what else we’ll see flashing…
