We might as well call this the “Couple Phone”, as two devices, laying side by side look very much like a couple in love. Plus, each of the Duofone units manages to add some extra battery life to the other, also doubling the resolution and creating a bigger common keypad. How cute is that?

The concept belongs to Daewoo Kim and it would be a pity not to see it in real life, specially with the EURO 08 coming up and the need for bigger portable screens to watch matches on.

Want a full touchscreen smartphone with a cool illuminated virtual keypad? For now, a concept fulfils your demands, the P1 smartphone, designed by Cyrill Drummerson. The designer relies on the fact that his handset shows a minimum number of buttons, in order to simply the interface.

Almost all of the frontal panel of the handset is touch sensitive, while the camera and display are covered by a polymeric material that grants them a special black glossy look. Even the author of the concept admits that it resembles the iPhone, although it’s not even close to a clone, unlike most touchscreen phones nowadays.

iPhone who? Just look at the P-Per concept phone below, designed by the Chocolate Agency and you’ll why we can consider the iPhone to be outdated. It’s only 7mm thin and includes a 3 megapixel camera plus it can recharge its batteries in 2 minutes. How? It may be solar energy or just another “alien” technology.

P-Per Phones Comes With Flexible Touchscreen and 2 Minute-Long Charging Process

The design of this device is based on layers, 4 of them to be more precise: extruded polycarbonate, titanium (recycled), a printed circuit board and a flexible LED touchscreen that wraps around the phone and comes with haptic feedback.

This original display redefines the interface concept and enhances multimedia abilities thus guaranteeing an unique user experience.

Clock Phone Concept - Forbidden for Poor People

I could say that this is a gold-plated cellphone with Swarovsky crystals and diamonds so it’ll cost you a lot. But it’s not… It’s still expensive though, just because it features a fancy clock inspired by pocketwatches and because Steve Madsen, its creator wants it to belong exclusively to rich folks.

Clock Phone Concept - Forbidden for Poor People

The Clock Phone comes with a volume adjustment mechanism on the left, inspired by the controls of a wristwatch. Check out the interesting integration of the camera with the aid of a simple black circular and shiny “spot”. Why is this expensive? Beats me, but there’s got to be more to this phone than meets the eye.

Before wireless charging gets a commercial use we have an alternative to untangling our chargers’ wires each time we want to play on the PSP, chat on the phone and get our old MP3 players ready for a stroll. The Etna 2°Vision concept phone solves these issues by including a central power ring, designed to fit your charger stud inside.

Etna 2° Vision Concept - No More Tangled Wires

You get rid of the pesky wires by plugging the charging station directly into the power socket with the phone wrapped around it. The only problem is that in case a short circuit happens we’ll not only burn a charger, but also the handset.

We usually show you sci-fi concepts or crazy designs, but the “Need” concept you can see below goes on the minimalistic side and doesn’t come with uber features. It’s designed with communication in mind so there’s no trace of a camera, or media player or anything else.

Need Concept Phone Can Only Call and Receive Calls

The Need phone features 2 screens, an OLED and a touchscreen and it’s so basic that it allows you to see the battery after sliding its lock down. Who said complex was beautiful?

Ever dropped a phone on the pavement? No, let me ask you again… Ever dropped a Vertu on the pavement? That’s right, you can’t, because Vertu owners only walk on red carpets. Since the rest of us mortals keep dropping phones, there’s a life saving concept coming from Amit Dongre: a handset that sticks to your hand like glue.

Wristband Concept Phone, a Handful

It’s supported by a wristband, that includes the mouthpiece and finger bands that incorporate the earpiece. The only problem with this device is that you’ll have to twist your hand a lot in order to make calls, so staying in touch will pretty soon become a sport.

What you can see below is the Packet concept phone, the winner of the Istanbul Design Week 2007, created by Emir Rifat ISIK. It’s a surprising device measuring only 5 x 5 cm (folded), which opens up to show its user 5 surfaces which include a keypad, 2 mini keyboards and touch sensitive buttons.

The Packet Concept Phone - Compact, Light and Eco-Friendly

The handset is made out of some sort of e-paper, that’s touch-sensitive and makes the device extremely light and thin. It may also be made of environmentally friendly materials, so we’ll be high tech and “green” at the same time, in case this design turns into a real phone.

Gone are the days of concept phones and futuristic Nokia devices… We’re being introduced to the Handphone design, a futuristic handset that aims to change the definition of phones, as we know it. It supports GSM-UMTS connectivity and comes with voice activated control and dial memorized numbers.

Handphone, Mini Handset of a Non-Fashionista

Of course, the entire control system is based on gestures and voice, while the entire contraption will be attached to your body with the aid of elastic strings. They’ll even come in different colors, for fashionistas who lost their way!
