Stardate 18-02-2008… These are the voyages of the starship Rumorprise, bound to find the PSP Phone any minute now. It’s barely reached planet Stuff (magazine) and it seems that the device will feature a 480 x 272 display, a mini analog stick and finally lack that useless UMD drive. We’ll be playing game via M2 and what you can see above are (as mentioned) scans from Stuff magazine, which I spotted thanks to the folks of engadget. There’s also a supposed launch date in the magazine: July-December plus a few other details you’ll find out by reading the rest of the entry.

You do not have to believe this rumor! However, all of us PSP fans can’t simply ignore such a piece of information. SEfanatics brings out the news, showing a page from Sony Magazine, which announces a “PSP-Style Phone” for February. February what? Maybe 2009 or even 2010. It seems that it will even hit the shops, as early as, well this month, unless we’ve got the year all wrong. Where’s the official launch? The teasing? The party? The tech show? That’s surely an indicator that we’ll see a PSP Phone at next year-s Mobile World Congress and maybe it will be launched a year from now. Just maybe…

Of course we’d like to see a Wii gaming phone, but it’s very unlikely, now that Nintendo has big plans for 2008, in its console segment. Also, in case Nintendo ever decides to join the pack of mobile phone manufacturers, I’m sensing a partnership with Apple, don’t ask why, I just think that the two brands are compatible. About the concept in the image above, isn’t the screen too small for the device? And does it still run on AA batteries just like the Wiimote?
