Just as T-Mobile G1 was being made available today, at the same time with the launch of Android Market, we stumbled upon a couple of pictures portraying the next generation of Android handsets. The so-called T-Mobile G2 is, of course a rumour that originated from the TalkAndroid Forums. Is it a nice Photoshop edit or a major leak from Google?

Its specs are not known yet, but what we do know is that the device will incorporate a tilting screen with twice the resolution of the G1, Java V8 browsing (Chrome Mobile in action!) and interactive widgets.
Is it just me, or does this look like an iPhone screen slapped onto a T-Mobile G1? Anyone up for G3?

Seen by many as a HTC Touch HD with WiMAX flavour, the just leaked T8290 features a Russian interface and it’ll seemingly work on Yota’s (Russian carrier) service. This handset has been introduced at the WiMAX World Conference in Chicago, but there’s no trace of launch date or price.

Forget about specs, but you can imagine that the features of HTC T8290 are about the same as those of the Touch HD, give or take a few aspects. Also not coming to the US, I presume…

Tuesday’s the big day when HTC Dream, the first Android phone goes live. You might call this a Google Phone unveiling, but that’s more wishful thinking than reality, as the GPhone’s nowhere to be found. In the meantime we get some fresh live shots of the T-Mobile G1/HTC Dream, being used by probably the luckiest man on Earth. Hot!

Seems that HTC is doing to smartphones what ASUS is doing to its Eee PC notebook series… Basically, the company’s invading the market by announcing new handsets each week.
We’ve got the old Touch dying, as the Touch Diamond rules and arrived on Sprint, the Touch Pro is already hands on material, while the S740 makes us drool and there’s ton of hype surrounding the HTC Dream.
But what about the HTC Touch HD?

We’re dealing with BlackBerry Thunder-style handset that comes with the uber-famous TouchFLO 3D interface, Win Mobile 6.1 and a Qualcomm 7201A processor (528 MHz). The specs list gets even more impressive, if you check out the MoDaCo forum… We’re talking WVGA, 512 MB ROM, 256 MB RAM, GPS, HSDPA, 5 megapixel camera (no flash), microSD slot and 1350 mAH battery.
Plus, there’s info about a Christmas launch of the handset, but take this all with a huge grain of salt, as usual!

HTC Dream has only been the stuff of blurry videos and rumours till now, but finally we take a look at some decent spy pics, a few months before its launch.

It’s a T-Mobile branded device running the Android OS and probably the main rival of the upcoming Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. Hmm, we spot a pretty clean and smooth interface, a rotating display and a cool QWERTY keyboard.
Seems that those FCC revealed specs were confirmed after all… I don’t quite like the bottom side of the HTC Dream, the one beneath the screen, as it seems old-fashioned, like it borrowed the design from an “ancient” Pocket PC.
