I’ve seen so many Sony Ericsson XPERIA handsets that I’m becoming some sort of expert in criticizing them or foretelling the future regarding the SE smartphone series. As usual, we’re hoping it becomes a real handset, but we can’t help noticing the resemblance between this XPERIA concept and the P1 or even the cancelled Paris P5.

Although we could have sworn that SE Alicia was cancelled, the W707 surfaces in yet another series of spy pics, that partially confirm its existence. We’re dealing with a follow-up of the W980 phone, that features a 3.1 megapixel camera with video capture support and two external displays.

Sony Ericsson W707 Alicia comes with a glossy finish, HSDPA support, web, email and a very neat interface on its circular exterior screen. Cancelled or not, we love it!

Most of the Walkman concept phones we’ve seen lately sport a touchscreen and a beautiful design that SE should really look into, if they want to make it a successful 2009.
Tob!s from Esato brings us Sony Ericsson W909, yet another SE music phone with a touchscreen, but no specs to complement the hot looks. I’m guessing it comes with at least a 5 megapixel camera and maybe 8GB of internal memory… Did I get the features right?

At first glance the Sony Antaeus might be a PSP, at second it could be a music player, but deep down it’s a smartphone with a touch-sensitive screen. The creation of Jim from Lecoupdulapin, this handset combines the function of an audio player with a high-end mobile device.

Notice the rounded shape and the beautiful exterior design, covered by a black case of Bakelite. Sony Antaeus supports MP3 and MP4 playback and can basically read any video and audio format, but also enables file sharing with a PC or Mac. The usual Bluetooth support and USB port are present among the specs, but now I’ll let the images do the talking for a while.

Esato board newcomer lor_pse designed the beautiful Sony Ericsson L502 concept phone, defined as “something between a K and a T, at SE colours”. I have to admit that the combination of colours is brilliant, but somewhere in my brain there’s a mechanism telling me that green and white is some sort of “colour branding” that defines cheap and poor-specced handsets.

This is not the case and although the colorus seem taken from an Alcatel or Sagem device, the L502 comes with a 2.2 inch QVGA screen, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, 8GB of internal memory plus an M2 slot. Its specs list also includes HSDPA (7.2 Mbps), WiFi, GPS/AGPS and stereo loudspeakers. The Sony Ericsson L502 concept phone measures 100 x 48 x 10.5mm and weighs 79 grams.
As for the colours, seriously, when was the last time you saw a green and white smartphone or best selling handset?

Sealover94 from Esato introduces yet another XPERIA X2 concept phone, this time one that should make it to the tech addict’s wallpaper list. The blurry pic below is the creation of tob!s, also from Esato, who really imagines an X2 in action.
Some of us are barely getting used to handling a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, while these folks are already dreaming of the next generation of Windows Mobile and SE-branded devices… Taking their opinion into consideration is the least that Sony Ericsson can do, if they want to succeed.

After getting stunned and unimpressed by a pink C905, it’s time to criticize Sony Ericsson again, in case they ever decide to release the Filippa handset. What we’ve got here is pure ugliness and a specs list to match. Find out the features of this strange device below:

The shape of the phone goes back to the nineties, so nothing good can come out of this. It looks more like a laptop battery to me than a cameraphone, honestly. However, this is a Cyber-shot phone with UI 2.0, QVGA video recording, a 5 megapixel camera, TV-out and active lens cover.
The specs list also includes a 2.2″ QVGA scratch resistant mineral glass display, an M2 card slot, dedicated camera keys and illuminated imaging shortcuts. 140 MB of internal memory, face detection, BestPic and Photo fix end the features’ list and once again, please stop mistaking this for Sony Ericsson Kate, that handset might be ugly as well, but no THAT ugly.

This may be the exact opposite of a concept phone: the perfect way to ruin an existing device. Paint it pink and not the pink that’ll shock everyone, but rather a faint shade of pink that got its own name, “Tender Rose”. Although it sounds like a track from Akira Yamaoka’s Silent Hill soundtracks, this color is no good news for SE fans, unless they’re 12 and girlish.
Not discriminating anyone here, there might be a Hello Kitty fan in some of us…

A couple of weeks ago we saw Sony Ericsson Kate, yet again in blurry pictures and without much appeal, but now it gets interesting as more details are revealed. Kate is a Cyber-Shot handset with a 3.2 MP AF camera, active lens cover, smile shutter, face detection and photo fix. That’s a photo editing studio in your pocket, if you ask me.

The new Cyber-Shot also features dedicated keys for camera and video, photo and video light, illuminated imaging shortcuts and auto rotation when viewing on-screen content.
There’s also another Cyber-shot handset going around the web right know, dubbed as the Filippa, but some claim that it’s the same thing as Kate, despite its supposed 5MP camera.

This Sony Ericsson concept is not, by any means new, as its design follows the trends of the year 2004, or 2005, but still this a hot concept of (maybe) PSP Phone. Dubbed the EF 208, this “Game Terminator” is a Sony Ericsson phone/console for gamers, that features a wide touchscreen, a camera and game controls.
I can see a fighting game on its screen and it’s surely not Tekken… Any ideas?
