Still in the segment of lo-fi devices, we find the Matchbox Phone, created by Zhongfang Lv, designer of the
“Two Smoking Barrels” concept. The Matchbox phone isn’t sleek, or pretty, or fashionable, but what is it? A plastic box, that’s right, a plastic box that allows you to make calls and take black and white photographs.

It doesn’t feature Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but it can send an SMS (wow, really?) and its display can be used for reading (black and white) comic strips. The only thing I didn’t get was how the device could hold chocolate, as the designer stated “just like a matchbox contains chocolate”. Did I misinterpret his words?
