Kaymak G1 Smartphone Uses Quad Core Nvidia Processor, 720p Display Loading ... Hasan Kaymak from Turkey really wanted a smartphone, so he created the Kaymak G1 handset and intends to send his project to Mr. Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s prime minister. He hopes that the politician will make his dream real, but till then let’s see what his dream is about.

Kaymak G1 Smartphone Uses Quad Core Nvidia Processor, 720p Display

Kaymak G1 is a quad core smartphone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, HSPA+ connectivity and a 4.5 inch 720p HD display. 16/32GB of internal memory are available, as well as microSD card slot and an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, plus a 2 megapixel camera upfront. WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and a 1850 mAh battery mare this device a plausible affair.

With an 8mm thick case and quad band support, this would become the first quad core phone made in Europe or Western Asia so to say. For me this model looks a bit like an LG Optimus new generation smartphone would, but other than that I can see no resemblance to other brands, except for maybe the Galaxy S II a bit…

Rotating Dual Touchscreen Phone Easily Becomes a Console, a Mini Netbook Loading ... With Android Ice Cream Sandwich supposedly launching on October 11th, I can’t help but think that the concept you can see below will run this OS. Created by Abhi Muktheeswarar, this device is rotatable dual display handset, that can be turned into a mini netbook or a portable console.

Rotating Dual Touchscreen Phone Easily Becomes a Console, a Mini Netbook

No specs were provided, so I’m going to go ahead and speculate that this is a 4 inch device with a waistline of 10mm and a dual core 1.5GHz CPU. Its sliding part is also a touchscreen, that can display either a portrait keyboard or a landscape one and even virtual gaming controls, if the need arises.

The really interesting part is the rotating mechanism here and I’d rather follow the Japanese model and see this unit only united by Bluetooth, without the two parts being physically attached to one another. The picture of the handset in landscape mode reminds me of the Motorola Milestone, but honestly I can imagine LG coming up with a dual screen smartphone concept of this kind.

Google Nexus 3 Looks Skinny, Uses Very Clean UI

Google Nexus 3 Looks Skinny, Uses Very Clean UI Loading ... Federico Ciccarese is at work again, this time with a Google Nexus concept, the Nexus 3 you can see in the following images. This handset shows an innovative interface, that’s most likely suppose to be the one of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, in the vision of Ciccarese Design.

Google Nexus 3 Looks Skinny, Uses Very Clean UI

We’re dealing here with a slightly curved smartphone that will eventually be called Samsung Nexus Prime, but Google Nexus 3 does just as good. Notice how slim this unit is and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was below 8 mm in thickness. The design reminds me a bit of the Nexus S, albeit thinner and with a less curvy form factor.

Ever wondered why they made some phone concepts curved? The idea is to get the handset to emulate to your face for a better experience and if you ever used a Nexus S you know what I’m talking about. The icons from the Android dock at the bottom looks very clean and very well spaced out, while the notification bar at the top doesn’t seem to have changed much from Gingerbread. If I were to guess some specs for the Google Nexus 3, these would be it: dual core 1.5GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 8MP camera, front cam, NFC and maybe even LTE.

Transparent Dual Display Phone Comes With Augmented Reality Features and More Loading ... Transparent phones are more than a fashion, they’re a thing of the future as one or two concepts have shown before. This time we have a dual display transparent handset on our hands, one created by Wenhing Chu & Kok Keong Wong and known as the Space 3.

Transparent Dual Display Phone Comes With Augmented Reality Features and More

The device uses two sliding transparent surfaces that attach to one another and form the smartphone. You can split them and still pair them most likely via wireless and this is very cool, since you get double the screen estate you’d normally benefit from. We must also mention that the screens have divided roles, as one is the Mother and the other one is the Lens.

You can shift from passive to active UI output and also you’ll interact via gestures with this handset if you want. Imagine the opportunities of the Lens screen: augmented reality: tons of photo taking options, great navigation services and landmark positioning on the map, augmented gaming and social networking. Incredible!

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Concept Theme Looks Interesting, Created Through Customization Loading ... In lack of a proper launch date for Android Ice Cream Sandwich, we’ll just be happy with a concept theme for the upcoming release. Confirmed by Eric Schmidt to come in October/November, Android 4.0 has been shown as the following design pictured below.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Concept Theme Looks Interesting, Created Through Customization

This was achieved through the Nite UI theme that borrows a lot from the new Android Market and a bit from the new Google Voice widget, with its minimal design. The theme isn’t all about rooting and flash zip, instead it’s a bunch of apps that you can get from Android Market and couple together.

With enough free time on your hands, you’ll make your device look like this and maybe, just maybe you’ll get the Ice Cream Sandwich feeling going on a month or so before its launch. How about a concept for Windows 8 now, I mean a new one, since we’ve already had those on our website. In case you’re wondering what Android Ice Cream Sandwich is all about, know that it will unify Gingerbread and Honeycomb into a single platform and most likely debut on the Samsung Nexus Prime handset in a couple of weeks.

Neovictorian Phone is Totally Steampunk, Available for a Price Loading ... A concept by J. Redmer, the Neovictorian phone is as steampunk as it gets. This device comes with a wooden chassis and it’s not a high tech piece of handset, since it relies on a Sagem X5m for its main pieces.

Neovictorian Phone is Totally Steampunk, Available for a Price

This is an entirely hand made cellphone, an unique piece of work that’s sold for $350 right here. The menu is available in English and German and there’s also a 230 V charger in the mix, 900/1800 MHz connectivity and a battery that lasts for 1-3 days, approximately. The original Sagem cellphone has been integrated into a handmade wooden case and tweaked with antique brass keys for dialing.

The backlit LCD display gets a new front, a green one, that gives it an old-school look. If you live in Europe you can get this product and some other pieces of work from the Neo-Victorian and Steampunk currents, courtesy of Redmer Werkstatt from Poland.

Amazon Kindle Tablet Gets a Close to Reality Mockup

Amazon Kindle Tablet Gets a Close to Reality Mockup Loading ... In case you didn’t know, there’s an Amazon Tablet coming, actually two models, one with a 7 inch display and another with a 10 inch screen. Or so I though till just hours ago, when TechCrunch published an article saying they’ve played with THE Amazon slate, that in the end will be a single version, only called Amazon Kindle Tablet.

Amazon Kindle Tablet Gets a Close to Reality Mockup

What you see here is a mockup they made according to the real device, that they can’t show just yet. This is a 7 inch unit that is going to cost an impressive $250, if everything goes well. This is half the price of the entry level iPad, so the product will give Apple a run for the money. As far as the software goes, Amazon seems to have given up Android and installed their own version of Kindle OS, so to say.

It’s all Amazon and Kindle here, with shades of orange, dark blue and black. The main menu is a combo between the Cover Flow in iTunes and a carousel that will be familiar for people with HTC Sense 3.0 devices. You get apps, movies and books with a single tap. Below the carousel, there’s a dock for favorite items and you will place them there with your hands.

Once the Amazon Kindle Tablet is turned horizontally, the dock disappears. These are all confirmed facts, courtesy of TechCrunch, but sadly there’s no photo to go with them.

Dell Metro Tablet Uses the Windows Phone Metro UI

Dell Metro Tablet Uses the Windows Phone Metro UI  Loading ... And yet another concept tablet from Abhi Aravind… this time a Dell device with 10 inch screen. Meet the Dell Metro, a slate that gets this name because it uses Microsoft’s trademark Metro UI from Windows Phone 7.

Dell Metro Tablet Uses the Windows Phone Metro UI

The Dell tablet concept comes with a 10 inch capacitive AMOLED touchscreen display, with a 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and 4G connectivity. There’s also a huge 80GB SSD on board, as well as an impressive 2.3GHz Nvidia Tegra processor, coupled wit 2GB of DDR3 RAM. With all this firepower, this model could easily run Windows 8, if it wanted.

As far as the image capture goes, you have an 8 megapixel camera available, with 1080p video recording and HD photo taking. Basically you can imagine this as an enlarged Windows Phone 7 handset or simply a Windows Phone 7 tablet, that looks highly unlikely now that Win 8 is ready to arrive.

Cobble Smartphone is a 3D Windows Phone Device  Loading ... I’ve seen all kinds of Windows Phone handsets till now, even some pretty Nokia units, but no 3D model up until this point… Luckily designer Niels van Hoof decided to create the Cobble phone, that’s a 3D smartphone with Windows Phone 7 on board and great looking display.

Cobble Smartphone is a 3D Windows Phone Device

The device uses a 4.5 inch 3D 16:9 HD screen, giving a great sensation of depth even without the 3D glasses. There’s also an adaptive camera tracker involved, that follows the user’s finger and predicts his on-screen movement, for an incredibly smooth touch experience. There’s also adjustable zoom available, through a motion scroll feature, that you’ll find extremely useful on this concept phone.

Also, Cobble Phone supports 3D video calling, thanks to 2 hidden cameras upfront and as far as the design goes, you get an aluminum body, with special coated plastic back and curved glass front. The camera at the back is a 3D 8 megapixel unit with the logo functioning as its flash. How cool is that?

DrawBraille Touch Phone is Perfect for Visually Impaired Users Loading ... We have seen a couple of cellphones for visually impaired users, but one more always welcome. This Braille phone was created by Shikun Sun and bears the name of DrawBraille Phone. So, here’s finally a piece of device, with a touchscreen for people with disabilities.

DrawBraille Touch Phone is Perfect for Visually Impaired Users

This concept cellphone uses the Braille alphabet, that’s embossed into the surface of the smartphone, for input and output functionality. Mechanical dots will be formed to make an input area, while bigger square patterns are used as the display for the phone, offering touch cellphone functionality.

210 mechanical dots are shown on the phone’s reading area and stands for the 35 Braille alphabets available at this moment. They’re placed in 5 rows and the visually impaired users will slide their fingers over the dots to read the menus, phonebook, mails, texts and even e-books. Web surfing is also a potential feature of the cellphone. A music player and the ability to locate nearby public facilities are on board as well.
