We knew we were missing something! Between all these high end mobile phones and high-specd devices, we forgot how a
“ladies phone” looks like, but we’re reminded thanks to the handset pictured below, the Imobile V588.

Turns out that the “Imobile Phone V588″ is also known as the G88i and this colourful phone for the ladies comes with a 2.6 inch LCD display, an MP3 player, support for video playback (3GP and MP4), voice recorder, WAP and GPRS. There’s also Bluetooth on board, a calendar, a to do list, an unit converter and multiple speakers.
The health conscious will be glad to find out that a health management system was included among the features. As far as design is concerned, the phone comes with a flowery motif and an inlaid diamond. Concept or real thing? What do you say?

If you’ve been missing a foldable mobile
phone concept, we’ve got one for you: the Feutrefon Feltphone handset, created by Matthias Pugin. This device is made using leather and felt, but the interesting thing about Feutrefon is the fact that it can become flat when open and we mean completely flat.

The concept phone’s keypad is designed in an original way, to resemble touch buttons and the handset also includes a leather surface, a velcro washer and the laser-cut felt. As you can see below, the concept comes in 3 colors, white, blue and green, but we’ve got to admit that we love the exterior of the handset more than its interior.

3D images,
holograms, tiny embedded projectors… this is what we get to see on the latest concept phones, that have gone way past the idea of a normal display or a touchscreen. Ilya Tkach created a neat concept phone, known as Ku! that uses a giant flexible OLED screen that can produce buttons and wipers by passing an electric current through the display.

The Ku! phone forms keys on the surface of the handset for particular apps and also supports feedback according to the user’s presses, imitating the analog control solutions. The OLED display is also an energy-saving one and the phone is quite ergonomic and comfortable to use.
At the back of the Ku! there’s a stand, used to place the device as an alarm clock, photo frame, even OLED lamp, if you want to be really fancy.

Just a couple of days ago we’ve shown you some concept phones created by Bulgarian designer
Rumen Penev and among them there was a ladies phone, the Kragal handset. The designer sensed that the device has a certain appeal and sent us some more pictures that portray the concept phone. Opinions are welcome!

Its oval shape sure is feminine, while the makeup kit at the back is something that any fashionista might need and want. The only problem is that this extra option might make the phone heavier and maybe more easy to break (the side that shelters the makeup kit seems fragile). Ladies, would you buy such a phone?

[Thanks Rumen]

This is by no means a premiere, since LG showcased the world’s first
transparent handset at MWC 2009, but the device only featured a transparent keypad. How about a transparent display? This technology is used by Ryan Ma, who designed the Lenovo Poison handset, that you can check out below.

The transparent LCD resembles a tiny perfume bottle and it makes the handset rather fancy. As you can see, the phone is all but thin, but I really like its button placement and overall look, plus I bet that it glows really neatly in the dark.

Designed by Tirshathah Hunter, the Conduit mobile phone is in fact three devices packed into a single shell: a PDA (with stylus), a cellphone with camera and a very slim handset. The design was created for SKY/
Pantech, the Korean cellphone company that spawned so many original concepts over the years.

This can be considered a modular device, since it can switch its looks and functionality depending on the components you attach to it. When you’re using the standard slim phone, you’ll rely on voice commands and a scroll tool for calls and texting, since there’s no keyboard.
Notice the cool metallic look of the Conduit Phone, that’ll appeal to geeks and fashionistas alike, as if the phone was a splinter of the Pompidou centre, with the pipes resemblance and all.

Decent watch phones are one in a million, but one of those rare gadgets it the Speak To Me concept, designed by Nicolas Nicolaou. This stylish device is a
wrist watch that also possesses mobile phone features and a touchscreen. Speak To Me also features vocal recognition and a scrolling function that allows you to switch between apps and options.

The concept watch phone also packs a camera, that allows the user to take photos and immediately send them to other devices. The on-screen icons of the handset show that it also comes with Internet support, email, Bluetooth and alerts. I wonder if it features an MP3 or video player and how much storage space is available…
What do you think? Is this product viable? I’m tempted to say yes, specially if a company like LG or Sony Ericsson takes it up.

We have seen phones inspired by Aston Martin or Ferrari, but Audi is a brand that also deserves to have its design borrowed by handset manufacturers. Why wait for a real device when Sergio Gedanke already has a
concept waiting for fame? It’s the iTT Phone you can check out below, inspired by Audi TT and Audi A8.

Sergio claims that the concept phone features materials and finishes that are similar to those on Audi automobiles, specially the TT roadster and the fancy A8. iTT also comes with an useful trackball, a backlit customizable keyboard and a tilting screen, ideal for reading while driving.
How about a Seat phone? Or maybe a Mazda phone? I want to see a Dodge cameraphone…

Chino Ragragio designed the Ragio
concept phone “out of pure fancy and whim” and the result is a beautiful circular device. The top panel of the Ragio phone can rotate 180 degrees and the handset comes with a music and video player.

This phone’s keys are pretty big and the display looks glossy and fancy, plus there’s a camera at the back. What do you think? Could circular phones ever make it on today’s market?

The Puma Phone exists, at least as a concept, thanks to Benjamin Fullerton, who designed this extremely hot fashion handset. We’re dealing with a
touchscreen device, with a 3 megapixel camera, a speakerphone and an exterior layer made out of hard wood and soft leather.
I bet it feels as good in the hand of the user as the Puma sports shoes feel on a sportsman’s feet. And remember, NO cheap plastic!
