Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Ryan Sheehan sent me an email showing the HTC Orion 4G concept, a high end smartphone, with an interesting design. As you can see, the phone has Verizon branding, so the designer already has a carrier in mind. We’re dealing here with a quad core phone, that features a 1080p display and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The interface and icons look very playful, to be honest and somehow remind me of webOS, believe it or not. HTC Orion 4G adopts a wrap-around design and uses a 4.5 inch 16:9 screen with the above mentioned resolution. It runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0 on top of a 2 GHz quad core processor. There’s also a 12 megapixel camera on board of this HTC concept, with 1080p video capture, plus a 720p 5MP camera, NFC, 2GB of RAM and a 2000 mAh battery.

The Orion 4G uses a magnetic charging port and it’s available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions. This looks like a solid Samsung Galaxy S III rival, certainly more solid than the HTC Sensation was against the Galaxy S II. The design is kind of simple for HTC, that sometimes likes to complicate things and include a protective shell as a case, one that houses the components, but can be detached, like on the HTC Sensation XE and original Sensation.

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Wp7__fan, the same guy who created this Nokia concept with Windows phone now sent us his new design, that involves a HTC Windows Phone handset. This model is called HTC Glory and to me it looks more like the LG Optimus 7, as far as looks go. It has a 4 inch display based on AMOLED technology, probably with the usual 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

HTC Glory features a 2GHz dual core processor, 32GB of storage, a 2400 mAh battery and a 12 megapixel camera. There’s also 2 megapixel camera at the front and the operating system here is Windows Phone Tango. No one knows exactly what Tango will bring, but I’ve heard that it comes with support for LTE, NFC, different form factors for phones (BlackBerry-like with combos of touch and QWERTY) and support for front camera. The next OS, Windows Phone Apollo will be the big one, supporting dual core processors and 720p resolutions.

What do you say about this device and how much would you spend on it? Keep in mind that there’s already a 16 megapixel WP7 device out there, HTC Titan II… so I’m not sure where this model fits in…

[Thanks wp7__fan]

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Courtesy of HTC-Hub.com I got to see a new HTC concept, the one that you can see below, created by Ekinox. Called HTC Screen, this design involves a huge 4.7 inch display with HD resolution and the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor as the “brain” of the smartphone. Rest assured that we’ll see many quad core HTC units in 2012 and they may even look like this model…

HTC Screen also uses 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0. Beats Audio technology is also involved here and this handset reminds me a bit of those designs that were leaked and called HTC Zeta/Edge/Endeavour, as the first quad core phones from the Asian company. We’re dealing here with a solid unibody chassis, one big block of metal, that features a pretty discrete camera, that I suppose is a 12 megapixel or 8 megapixel sensor.

There’s also a front camera available and the usual 4 capacitive keys for Android. I’m really curios about HTC Sense 4.0 and I really can’t wait for MWC 2012 next month to see it in action… Ekinox did a fine job with this concept, although it tends to feel a bit massive and bulky… I’ll have to see its profile to judge that!

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Rybarczyk Francois had a brilliant idea of creating a HTC concept with a magnesium unibody frame and an extra battery module, that will increase the functioning time of the handset. There lower back side of the phone is imprinted with a pattern done through machining. You can set this phone to charge directly onto the wall and as far as I can see the device incorporates the charger that you’ll attach to the socket.

There’s also the option of leaving an extra battery module to charge and attaching it to the device for a fast juice up of the smartphone. This HTC design looks pretty fancy and the idea of having the prongs and charging mechanism integrated into the phone is certainly interesting. The design reminds a bit of the recent HTC Edge quad core phone render and it’s very sleek and elegant. This rounded device gives me the impression that it’s actually one of those smaller cellphones, with a 3.2 inch diagonal or close.

As you can see, in some versions this handset runs Windows Phone and in others Android, with the associated capacitive keys being placed below the display. I must say that I like particularly the version with Android and its capacitive keys…

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.We go back to 2010 for the HTC H1 concept phone, a device that looks rugged and bulky. This is the kind of gadgets you find on a construction site or in places where the robots from Transformers fight… you know like Cybertron. Joke aside, this creation belongs to Saeid Khajevand from Tehran, Iran and he did a good job in designing an original handset.

The X shaped pattern on the back of the phone is very interesting and as you can see this bulky smartphone comes with a 12 megapixel camera, a 3 inch TFT LCD display, a mini USB connector, a front speaker, a secondary VGA camera and side speakers. At the back there’s also a Xenon flash and we also get LED notification lights and multi-function capacitive buttons under the display (those two, on the left and right), plus a microSD card slot. If there’s any feature that doesn’t impress you remember that this is a HTC concept from 2010.

If this device would ever be redone, it would be thinner, but I’d like it to keep that X format at the back, since it’s cool and I also like the variation in thickness at the back of the device. There are some slopes and asymmetry to gain from here, beautiful ideas really… As you can see there’s also a stylus in the mix, so this may be some sort of rugged business PDA device.

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Deviantart member ArtLime created an interesting concept interface for Android Ice Cream Sandwich and applied it to a HTC design called Skyline. The UI is simply called Simple UI and it’s very minimalistic, this design traits being clear especially in the lockscreen, home menu and applications area. The lockscreen involves a simple sliding bar and it shows all the notifications one needs (alarms, missed calls, texts and emails).

The Home menu is very standard with 4 dock icons at the bottom, that include the classic Back and Recent apps virtual buttons, while the My Applications menu seems to include a Games section and a Favorites section. As far as the HTC Skyline concept is concerned, this model resembles the HTC Rhyme quite a bit and its front styling also reminds me of the HTC HD 7. This Android phone probably has a 5 or 8 megapixel camera, 16GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and most likely a dual core processor, although HTC recently launched some single core handsets that were actually decent.

I guess that the display here is around 4 inches in diagonal, a choice that HTC didn’t quite tackle so far, if I’m not mistaking. What do you think about this nifty Android 4.0 UI and handset?

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.The 4th Nexus Phone comes from Bob Freking, as the Google Nexus Ultima concept shown below and the first phone with Android Jellybean on board. We’re dealing here with a premiere: the first handset made by all 4 major manufacturers from the Android world: LG, Samsung, HTC and Motorola. Android Jellybean also combines the UI features of Touchwiz, Motoblur, Sense and Optimus UI.

Each of the manufacturers supplied a component from a field they excel in: Samsung gave the Exynos CPU, LG and Samsung created the display, the camera and design were done by HTC and Motorola is responsible with the build quality and the rest of the features. Google Nexus Ultima packs a 4.7 inch RGB IPS+ HD 720p display that generates 1000 nits of brightness. There’s a 2MP camera upfront with 1080p 30 fps capture and a main 13 megapixel shooter with dual LED flash and 60 fps 1080p video capture.

The back of the handset is made of kevlar and this 2012 Nexus Phone comes with a steel frame that protects the internals of the device. The CPU of choice here is a quad core Exynos 5250 (Cortex ARM A15 MP core and Mali GPU). There will also be an extreme edition of this handset, with a higher price, a Super AMOLED HD NOVA screen, a 20 megapixel camera and 5MP front cam, all of these protected with waterproof and bulletproof glass. Remember that this is only a concept, that measures 9mm in thickness!

[Thanks Bob]

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Hasan Kaymak is back in 2012 with a new design, the one of the HTC concept phone called Cemile. HTC Cemile uses a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel display with a 4.8 inch diagonal, thus becoming the largest Android smartphone out there, unless you count the Galaxy Note as a handset.

This concept HTC also comes with a 16 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a front 2 megapixel camera, NFC support, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense UI 4.0. The phone relies on a 2500mAh Li-Akku battery for juicing up the machine and the specs list also includes HSPA+ connectivity, LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and 60GHz support (a new wireless technology). HTC Cemile adopts a metallic case as chassis and it provides 32GB of flash memory for storage purposes.

It also has changeable virtual buttons, that are easy to tweak, courtesy of a special feature from HTC. The handset also gets Wide IO Mobile RAM, a next generation 30nm type of RAM memory, with 50% less power usage compared to the equivalent DDR2 sticks. Also you must know that Cemile is supposed to ship with Beats Audio with Solo earphones. I imagine that the design of this device is pretty thin, looking at this pictures, something like 8mm or so. Fancy this smartphone?

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Bob Freking is back with a new design, the HTC Destiny concept, that brings us a camera that’s able to rival the DSLR experience. HTC Destiny is a flagship phone with 2GB of RAM and a 16 megapixel camera, capable of 1080p HD video capture. Shooting qualities borrowed from top notch cameras from the DSLR line are expected…

The handset also features a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense UI and it packs a 4.5 inch 1080p AMOLED display with 453 ppi. The HTC Destiny is meant as a series, that will include models such as the Destiny S, Destiny Tab (probably a tablet), Destiny HD (what’s more HD than 1080p display?!), Destiny Pro (has a keyboard most likely) and more. Do you fancy such a device?

As far as design goes, I can see here that the unibody styling is back among the trends and that front side of the smartphone is looking great. The navigation buttons in Android 4.0 seem a bit cramped between the dock area of the OS and the HTC logo, but that’s an experience only a real user can approve or criticize.

[Thanks Bob]

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Hasan Kaymak from HTC Concepts sent us a fresh HTC design, the Dream X model, that you can see in the photos below. We’re dealing here with a phone that uses a quad core 2GHz processor from Qualcomm and bundles it with a 4.7 inch 720p HD display with HTC Special Display technology, according to the designer.

HTC Dream X runs Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich with the HTC Sense 4.0 UI, that also gets a 4.0.9 Beta Pupil Version with special applications for students. The handset sports 4 LED lights at the bottom for a cooler design, a 12.1 megapixel camera with Xenon flash, USB 3.0 connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi via the new Wlan technology with 60Ghz frequency. This concept HTC seems incredibly thin and also its bezel is pretty small, making me think of an edge to edge design.

This smartphone’s screen looks crisp and clear and I wonder when HTC will start looking at these concepts in order to draw inspiration from them and evolve its designs. We have to evolve past the HTC Sensation unibody and reach into a new era…
