LG xoxo Phone Designed for the Business Lady

This one is intended for the business lady and it looks particularly appealing. The example given here is a young woman called Cathy Kim, who lives in New York and works as a freelance architect. She has to prepare for her presentations and still socialize with the aid of her phone…

That’s why the LG xoxo is appealing to her and this device seems to be some sort of clamshell, that can separate into two units. One of them is the keyboard and one of them is the display, both of them interacting via wireless connections. The whole LG xoxo measures 0.5 inches in thickness and weighs 1.1 lb. The interface on this LG concept phone seems to be very original and appealing and the keyboard looks comfortable.

Apparently you can also plug in one of these handsets to the server managing all the information the user needs. To me this looks like a square touchscreen phone, a unique format that has failed to catch on over the past years. It’s really nice that you can separate this smartphone into two parts, with one being the remote keyboard and the other the touchscreen. I wonder how much distance can be put between two parts of the LG xoxo device… Would a young lady really have an use for this unit? Let’s imagine some specs now: 4.7 inch touchscreen, 720p resolution, 2GHz dual core phone, 8MP camera, 32GB of memory.

LG Optimus Black S – Upgrade of One of the Most Interesting Single Core Units From 2011

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.As a person who played with the LG Optimus Black in prototype phase, long before it came out I have to say that last year in Spring I considered the handset to be one of the best Android devices of the moment. It had the elegance, it had the style, the OS was OK, everything was fine… and now comes a follow-up, at least as a concept. Meet the LG Optimus Black S, created by Hasan Kaymak, who also has some other LG concept phones here.

This time the LG Optimus Black S is a dual core phone, one that uses a 1.5GHz processor, a 4.3 inch 720p HD Nova display and an 8 megapixel camera at the back. There’s also a 3MP front cam, as well as NFC, LTE, HSPA+ and WiFi b/g/n (60GHz) and a 2100 mAh battery. The handset uses Gorilla Glass 2 protection, a metallic case and the same G button we liked so much on the original model, probably with new feature. I’d love to see this phone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is a possibility considering the specs.

Will this handset ever become real or it will remain a mere LG smartphone design?

Google Nexus Ultima, the First Android Jellybean Device

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.The 4th Nexus Phone comes from Bob Freking, as the Google Nexus Ultima concept shown below and the first phone with Android Jellybean on board. We’re dealing here with a premiere: the first handset made by all 4 major manufacturers from the Android world: LG, Samsung, HTC and Motorola. Android Jellybean also combines the UI features of Touchwiz, Motoblur, Sense and Optimus UI.

Each of the manufacturers supplied a component from a field they excel in: Samsung gave the Exynos CPU, LG and Samsung created the display, the camera and design were done by HTC and Motorola is responsible with the build quality and the rest of the features. Google Nexus Ultima packs a 4.7 inch RGB IPS+ HD 720p display that generates 1000 nits of brightness. There’s a 2MP camera upfront with 1080p 30 fps capture and a main 13 megapixel shooter with dual LED flash and 60 fps 1080p video capture.

The back of the handset is made of kevlar and this 2012 Nexus Phone comes with a steel frame that protects the internals of the device. The CPU of choice here is a quad core Exynos 5250 (Cortex ARM A15 MP core and Mali GPU). There will also be an extreme edition of this handset, with a higher price, a Super AMOLED HD NOVA screen, a 20 megapixel camera and 5MP front cam, all of these protected with waterproof and bulletproof glass. Remember that this is only a concept, that measures 9mm in thickness!

LG Optimus 5 Uses Intel Medfield Processor

This smartphone uses a Intel Medfield chip, that supposedly provides 24 hours of battery life courtesy of a single 1500 mAh power source, so that’s very efficient power consumption, if you ask me.

LG Optimus 5 features a 4.5 inch IPS Display with 720p HD resolution and a chassis that’s a mere 7mm in thickness. The Intel Medfield processor is supposed to beat the Snapdragon dual core units and TI OMAP even in its single core iteration. However, this CPU used here is the dual core Medfield and it appears you can adjust the clockrate of the SoC up to 1.5GHz. This LG concept phone supports 4G connectivity, features a 3D display and also incorporates two 8 megapixel cameras with support for 3D capture.

Two 2 megapixel cameras are present at the front, most likely providing 3D videocalling. The OS of choice is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich predictably enough, with a customized LG UI. LG Optimus 5 is promoted by Bob Freking as a device that will be unveiled at CES 2012 and it will save LG and all other companies from battery loss.

LG Prada K2 2012 Phone Has Its First Sketch Published

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.LG and Prada have just confirmed a third fruit of their partnership: an upcoming handset that’s supposedly called the LG Prada K2 or the P940 (according to leaks). The two companies have also released a preliminary sketch of the handset, that can be seen below.

The new Prada 2012 phone will come early in 2012 and it will bring a keyboard, Android Gingerbread, a 4.3 inch display and HSPA+ connectivity. A 9mm thick waistline is expected, as well as support for various Prada-branded accessories. Prada Phone by LG 3.0 is expect to be both elegant and powerful, so hopefully we won’t see a featurephone here, like the first Prada handset model, that ran a featurephone OS.

The Prada Phone by LG 1.0 sold over 1 million units and it came with a touchscreen, pre-empting the first iPhone. The second Prada Phone was all about the cooperation with the Prada Link watch and now we have episode 3… Will it rock the world?

LG Auki Bracelet Phone Is Colorful and Elegant

The result is the LG Auki smartphone concept, that can be wrapped around the wrist, thanks to its flexible structure. This model uses a flexible spine as the main piece, plus a touchscreen surface and solar panels.

That’s right, the LG concept phone charges with the aid of the sun and you can find its battery on the inside, fueled by the star in our galaxy. LG Auki is an eco-friendly phone, with the ability to have the screen shift to standby mode, n order to save energy. No memory storage is used on the unit, instead relying on cloud services to store songs, documents, videos and everything you need. The cloud’s the future after all…

There’s also a nifty notification system, that when used with a reminder for example, it will make a certain event become more and more visible on the bracelet as the time of its start approaches. You can also change the look of the device through wallpapers, that can fit the user’s mood and preferences. WiFi is also incorporated and it turns out that the Auki can also guide you through cooking and following a recipe. It’ll also guide you vocally while exercising.

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Hasan Kaymak just sent me a very nice email containing his latest concept phone, the LG Optimus Pro, that you can see right here. We’re dealing with a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 unit with 1.5GHz of speed and the next generation of NOVA display, with a 4.3 inch diagonal and 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.

This 720p phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Optimus UI, it’s got Bluetooth 3.0, some 3D features and it’s overall a tiny device. I can spot a 12.1 megapixel camera in there, which would be a first for LG and a welcome first for that matter. The front design of the handset reminds me a bit of the HTC HD7, maybe because of that speaker grille at the top.

I’m really curios to see the first HD display phones, since they might amaze us all, who are still using the iPhone 4′s Retina Display as a landmark in quality. Also, I’ve seen a LG Optimus Black unit in action and the NOVA display was stunning. Now imagine a second generation of NOVA display…

Well, the LG Paper Touch Phone is one such unique handset, that’s able to unfold four times, each time providing different uses. Four-folding is supported and the resulting folds are put together using elastomer joint.

Once the LG concept phone is completely unwrapped, it offers the user the chance to view an OLED display, useful for web browsing, video chatting and e-book reading. When folded, the gadget is a mere phone, but when completely and totally unfolded it become some sort of a laptop, with multimedia integration.

This is not the first time I’ve seen a device that’s both a tablet and a phone, so this trend might generate some real life gadgets soon.

LG Slide Phone Incorporates Tablet-Size Screen That Rolls Out of the Device

This expanding section allows you to view web pages better, get some extra space for controls and navigation, plus cool gaming features.

We are however worried about the fragility of this mechanism, that looks very breakable, to be honest. The big display you see in these pics is rolled inside the LG Slide Phone, but you can also use the standard display, that’s big enough for a regular smartphone. We’re dealing with a very thin handset, one that comes with a fish eye mirror that can be used when taking pictures.

I guess that flexible display technology might be behind this unit, if it ever comes to life. It would mean that this LG concept phone is both a handset and tablet, an expandable one that is, with a folding screen.

LG Triptych Folding Phone Turns Into a Tablet

This folding phone can turn into a tablet and it features a main screen and two auxiliary displays that are able to fold out, in order to provide more reading, playback and typing space.

We guess that the device is running Android and we just had a thought: what if this device could run Android Gingerbread or 2.4 when in phone mode and switch to Honeycomb when it enters big screen (tablet) mode? Considering that LG is yet to reveal its first tablet, we’ll wait and see if they will use any ideas from concepts like the one you can see here.
