We’re speechless and stunned! Barely one year after being astonished by the Nokia Morph concept phone, Microsoft decided to give us a taste of its 2019 technologies. Microsoft Office Labs allowed the general public to check out their “2019″ montage and video, featuring people using next-gen means of communication, sharing content and interaction.
Here’s the futuristic bag of goodies:
The video got introduced on February 28, at the Wharton Business Technology Conference, revealing the future of personal health technologies, high tech education, animations, real time translations, Surface-like displays, transparent walls and screens, projecting devices and whatnot.
There’s even an electronic newspaper in the mix and, of course a flexible handset.

Xazac must have loved the hype caused by his stunning Zune Phone concept and his eXTouch Windows Mobile 7 phone, so he designed yet another brilliant piece of portable gadgetry. This time, it’s a sliding Zune phone we’re dealing with, a pretty impressive one, called the Zune Slide.
This baby took 10-12 hours of work, so big claps and thumbs up for Xazac! You can find out the Zune Slide phone’s features after the break:
Zune Slide is one of the rare handsets that use a 3 way sliding mechanism and, as if this wasn’t enough, there’s also a 3.3 inch multi-touch OLED display on the specs list, accompanied by a secondary (similar) screen on the sliding part. The handset uses a virtual keyboard shown on the second OLED display, which supports tactile feedback technology.
This Zune phone comes with a 6 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash and a VGA camera at the front for video calls.
If you’re worried about connectivity, there’s no need to be, as Zune Slide has got it covered worldwide, supporting GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA (14.4)/WiMAX (4G)/WiFi n/Bluetooth 2.1+EDR/Mini USB 3.0. The concept phone keeps the player’s huge memory, sporting 80 or 120GB storage space and the OS of choice is Windows Mobile 7, that incorporates Surface and Zune technologies.
Microsoft Surface in your pocket, three way sliding and taking 6 MP photos… can you imagine that?

Xazac is my new favorite designer and, as if that tiny Zune Phone concept weren’t enough, he went out and designed another hot Windows Mobile 7 touchscreen handset, the eXTouch.
This device uses a 480 x 720 multi-touch LED display (16M colors) and comes with pretty advanced features, available below.
The eXTouch concept phone supports GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA 14.4 connectivity, but it also adds GPS, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and WiFi to the list. The OS of choice for xazac’s handset is, of course Windows Mobile 7 and the device measures 69,2 mm x 110 mm x 8.3 mm, weighing 100.7 grams. Beautiful, don’t you think?

While browsing through xazac’s photostream on Flickr, I stumbled upon his superb designs and Windows Mobile 7 concepts, but there was also a neat device that drew my attention: a pretty tiny Zune Phone. Although Microsoft totally dismissed the existence of such a project, we keep on dreaming, as do designers, who come up with such impressive concepts.
According to xazac, the Zune Phone will use Microsoft Surface’s multitouch technology, Windows Mobile (7 probably) and Zune 3.0 software.

This is not the first time that David Turpin designs a Windows Mobile phone, and his previous attempt featured a similar look. However, what’s surprising is that hot QWERTY keypad, packed in such a slim body. This device could easily compete with the XPERIA X1 and T-Mobile G1, but only in case those flat keys offer some sort of feedback.
I cannot help but wonder how Android OS would look like on Turpin’s concept phone… What do you think?

Gamers everywhere unite! Claim your right to a portable XBOX console and hope that the following concept will be turned into a real device some day. Chris Hair designed this beauty using 3D Studio Max and Adobe Photoshop CS3. The result can be admired in the following pictures: the XBOX portable.
Its features are fairly impressive and you should know that the device is able to play original XBOX games, access XBOX Live and it’ll also be used as a standard XBOX 360 controller. XBOX live voice chat is fully supported, plus the console comes with a QWERTY keyboard, built in WiFi B/G/N and a 32GB SSD.
The XBOX portable’s display is a 16.7 million colour screen and surprisingly enough, the console can run Windows Vista, while gaming is handled via dual control sticks. Get more storage space with the aid of an SDHC card slot and finally connect the device to… basically anything with an USB port.
You’ll be able to view high def content on the console, login to your MSN and XBOX live accounts, chat and basically get an upgrade, even if you worship your Eee PC.

Microsoft isn’t all about software, as it’s shy when it comes to announcing a Zune phone, but never too serious to get a laughter from its fans. The oPhone laughs in the face of the iPhone and it’s quite a hilarious device, as you can’t take it seriously, although some of the ideas and technologies it uses are quite nice.
This is a fold out variable device, that uses three different surfaces for input and a circular display. It runs Windows Mobile and Microsoft claims that once you open the handset, its three-wing shape will make it a perfect boomerang. One of its surfaces includes a full keyboard, another one includes a music player control and a wheel control plus a few buttons.

Many are still waiting for the Google Phone, not the Android one, but THE GPhone, while others are dreaming of a Xbox Phone and finally many are craving the Zune Phone. Well, we’ve got a concept to satisfy our tech hunger, the Zune Contact phone created by Adam Huffman.
It’s an incredibly thin device with a 5 megapixel camera, a touchscreen and a pretty crowded interface. Its internal memory is 32 GB and in case you’re wondering, that big white button is a thumb rest, as unbelievable as it may seem.

While the PSP Phone is getting closer and closer to becoming a real device and not only a rumour, we’re barely introduced to concepts of similar Xbox-based contraptions. The latest is an Xbox 360-Zune hybrid designed by the concept artists of T3.
The specs list is very limited for this concept, but it does impress us with 64GB of flash storage and all the phone functions one could dream of. This is a rather thin device, but I guess that it’s the Zune talking here and its influence. Add a TV-out and decent battery to this portable Xbox 360 and I’ll be its fan. You can find more pics of the device here.

Ok, this is not a phone, but it’s still a portable device worth mentioning among the best designs we’ve seen. John Frohne is the designer of the Xbox 360 XTYPE controller that offers Bluetooth/USB support and allows you to search the web and control the DVD player on your Xbox console.
