Motorola Nexus RAZR Runs Android 5.0, Is Only 7mm Thin
February 20th, 2012 | by Thrystan |This Motorola concept uses a quad core Tegra 3 processor, although I doubt that in real life Motorola would select Nvidia instead of Texas Instruments for its CPU. The Motorola Nexus RAZR is only 7mm in thickness, has a 5 inch display and 16 megapixel camera. The fourth Nexus phone rendered here is a tad big for my liking, since I’m more a fan of 4.2 inch or 4.3 inch smartphones, but it’s still a pretty interesting device. The new Android is not a great departure from Ice Cream Sandwich, as you can see.
Considering Google bought Motorola last year, it would be a logical move for the search engine giant to make its own phone using the just bought company. Considering RAZR was the most original design approach from Moto lately, a combo between this look and the one of the Galaxy Nexus would be perfect. What do you think?

I wonder if Google merely bought Moto for its “intellectual properties” & not necessarily to carry on the Moto brand name. Like the old Ma Bell, Moto branding doesn’t seem to be as well respected as in yester-year. Having personally known an insider @ Moto, I know they were aware of the negative image impact and were working hard to reverse it. It will be interesting to watch the unfolding story.

Forgot to comment on the actual design. Its nice, but it seems to be the next hurdle for designers is giving the public the large touch screens they want, but figuring out how to shrink the physical device. A flat rectangle is a flat rectangle is a flat rectangle. Its hard to put beauty in flat rectangles and still maintain practical functionality & touch screens that consumers want. The flex-screens that the mfgrs are working on may provide more fodder for designers. Eventually, the design that will catch on and remain is minimalism that is transparent, invisible and an adjunct 2nd-nature to our very being. (Yes, Borg-like)
