Not much info on this one, since I’ve just found it on Flickr and it’s a fresh upload, but what I see here is a neat new type of clamshell. I can imagine this as a future Motorola, but the device is rather thick, compared to their thin RAZR phones.
Hopefully this new way of connecting two phone parts through a watch band-like hinge may solve the problem of circuits breaking down in that area.
Loading ...Gamers? iPhone fans? Thought so… Seemingly there’s not “one ring to rule them all”, but there’s a pretty neat device that will turn your iPhone into a PSP, at least when it comes to gaming controls and experience plus design.
The iControlPad is only a prototype for now, but I’m guessing it’ll hit the market till Christmas. Keep in mind that it also works with the iPod Touch, in case you’ve chosen the iPhone’s “phoneless” twin. More details HERE.

There are few concept phones that remain in the memory of tech geeks and Nokia Aeon is one of them. It may be the touchscreen or the sci-fi look, but it’s there in our heads and waiting to be released. The latest piece of news is that it already exists, at least in the Nokia labs, so we’ve got an Aeon coming soon folks.
The only proof of the statement above is a picture, more or less fake that shows a handset with touchscreen displays and a removable bottom part. This part could be the Nokia interactive touch keypad we’re eager to see in action.
Before we get the official word from Nokia, let’s remember what Aeon was like when we first saw it:

Seems that Sony Ericsson was part of quite a show at the JavaOne conferences, since they’ve “leaked” one or two prototype phones in their video presentation. Also, Rikko Sakaguchi from SE mentions that the company will launch the device from the video in 2008. Curios? Check it out below:
Fanatics of the Sony Ericsson brand have already started assuming that we’re dealing with the PSP Phone or the rumoured Shiho handset. Other than that it’s nice to see SE getting ready to go to war against the iPhone and maybe preparing a follow-up to the XPERIA X1 through one of these prototypes.

Too many “kiddie” phones on our hands lately, so it’s high time we started thinking about grandma and grandpa and their handsets. Enter EMC phone, the “Easy Mobile Calling” concept you can check out below.
It’s a device designed by Matthias Pinkert and it features 4 keys for direct calling and it also comes with one-touch calling and GPS tracking. Add a speaker phone to that and we’ve got a senior citizen’s perfect handset, not that my grandma wouldn’t fancy an iPhone or an HTC Touch Diamond.

As if the launch of the BlackBerry Bold wasn’t enough, there’s a new rumour in town saying that RIM is getting ready to launch a full touchscreen device, dubbed “Thunder”. There’s already a site created for this phone ready to update us daily on the news regarding and a neat product rendering of the handset from Boy Genius Report:
So far, we know that BlackBerry Thunder will sport a full touchscreen display, 4 simple keys: send, end, menu and back and that its model name will be BlackBerry 9500. Also, some sources claim it’ll come with 4G support, being available on Vodafone in Europe and on Verizon Wireless in the US.
Launch date? Somewhere in Q3 of this year, but this is a rumour, too. It’ll be weird to see BlackBerry Bold and Thunder 9500 competing as iPhone rivals, but I doubt RIM will want to “kill” the sales of its just launched device, so we’ll see the full touchscreen handset probably in 2009.

Don’t fret, as we’re not dealing with a launch, nor with a proper rumour. Instead we’re checking out a product rendering of the Philips Xenium X-Connect that looks pretty plausible and comes with a decent, if not too good lists of specs. The bad news? No Xenium phones for European and American users sadly.
Here’s the specs list for the Xenium X-Connect handset:
- Windows Mobile 6
- Connectivity: 3G UMTS/HSDPA
- GPS
- AA/AAA battery backup
- microSD slot
- Bluetooth 2.0
- 624MHz Intel processor
- 3.0 inch touchscreen display

Last I’ve heard, Sony Ericsson BeiBei and P5 (Paris) were “hanging out” together, getting leaked pictures on the Internet and all. Now, Paris surfaced a couple of days ago in a series of very convincing pics, so it’s time for BeiBei to show its tech face.
The SE device will be running UIQ 3.3 with aid of Symbian OS, but the rest of its specs are a mystery for now, unless you count WiFi, Bluetooth and an incorporated camera as major surprises. Enjoy the leaked pics folks!

Keep your eyes shut, ’cause this one’s gonna’ hurt! After finding out today that Vodafone managed to get the Apple iPhone deal for 10 countries we might assume that an official page like THIS would be less aggressive when it comes to former rival products and now great hits on offer.
Check out this screenshot taken from the official shop.vodafone.co.uk site:
They say you should rather buy a Samsung G600, Sony Ericsson W910i, Samsung F700 or Nokia N95 8GB. So Vodafone, which way is it going to be? Taking that page down, are you? Remember, Vodafone will start selling the iPhone soon enough, so this offer doesn’t quite make a good marketing sense.

One of my best sources of concept phones and uber cool designs, Yanko Design has sadly been hacked. As I entered the site a great big “Hacked by AGGO” filled my Firefox tab, while a fatal error was present at the bottom of the page. 504 designs are available in the search bar above, from the thousands available till now. Hope they’ll be back online soon and sorry for what happened to them!
