Nokia Lumia Coffee Tab Tablet Runs Windows 8

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Designer Tristan came up with a Nokia tablet concept that we’ve seen before, or at least the form factor looks familiar. I’m talking about the Nokia Lumia Coffee Tab, that looks like an enlarged Nokia N9 and runs Windows 8. This model is placed near coffee beans on a table, so instead of having a coffee table advertised we have a coffee tablet.

The Lumia slate comes with a 1.4 GHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM, 16 up to 64 GB of storage, a 9.7 inch AMOLED ClearBlack display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and an 8 megapixel camera. There’s also a 2 megapixel camera upfront as well as WiFi and 3G among the specs, in the connectivity area. The device seems to be bundled with the Nokia Purity headphones and its specs remind me more of a classic Windows Phone handset than a tablet from 2012. Well, this Nokia tablet design isn’t totally impossible and since the Finns already have 3 handsets with the exact same design, why wouldn’t they apply it to tablets, too?

I’m also hoping that the Lumia Windows 8 Tab will not be bulky, as it seems pretty thick here. Expect the real thing to pop up this summer at Nokia Connection 2012, as hinted by some Nokia officials a while ago.

Nokia Touch and Type Design With Nokia Belle OS on Board, Sliding QWERTY Keyboard

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.It’s been a while since I’ve see a Nokia device with a portrait sliding QWERTY form factor… let alone one with a touchscreen display and a keyboard of this type. Meet the Nokia Touch & Type True concept, created by FireDragon and published on Mynokiablog.com. The handset is supposedly from the C2-06 range and it comes with a main home button below the display.

This dream Nokia is pocketable, user-friendly, made for single hand use, it has an optical trackpad and a 3.2 inch touchscreen display. The phone runs Nokia Belle on top of a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4 or 8 GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot. A 5/8 megapixel camera is on board, as well as a front cam, for videocalling. And finally, the Nokia Touch & Type slider comes with GPS, WiFi, USB otg, a kickstand and a 1700 mAh battery, that should provide a long time of functioning.

Know that the camera on this device is able to scan a business card with readable content and the main appeal of the phone you see here is the ability to type very fast on its portrait QWERTY keyboard. The designer dismisses landscape sliders, finding them annoying and disturbing when traveling and during meetings.

Nokia Diamond Has Sharp Corners, Triangle-Shaped Camera

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Nokia Diamond is a concept created by Richard Malachowski, from China, who envisions a device with sharp edges and corners and overall and aerodynamic and aggressively shaped smartphone. This Nokia design also involves a triangle-shaped camera sensor and a back side that seems to sport a wood surface. The device may have the many corners of a diamond, but still it’s able to sit right on a flat surface.

With so many corners on the Nokia Diamond one would expect it to sting the user’s hand, to be honest. Also, it can feel a bit uncomfortable in the palm of the user, but at least it’s unique in form factor and it looks very light and slim. I have no real specs for this model, so I suppose we’re dealing with a 4 inch touch display smartphone with Clear Black AMOLED technology, Symbian Belle or MeeGo as the OS of choice, 1 GB of RAM, a 1GHz processor and a 5 or 8 megapixel camera at the back.

The volume buttons on this baby also seem to be wooden, just like the battery cover, while the rest of the phone might as well be polycarbonate. Of course, the wood-like side can be an imitation, but I doubt Nokia would resort to such materials. In the end I see this as a fashion phone, considering its shape, name, materials and form factor.

Nokia Style Runs Windows Phone Tango, Sports Dual Core CPU

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Sent to us by wp7__fan, the Nokia Style concept is a device based on Windows Phone Tango and its specs include a 12 megapixel camera and the design features you can see pictured below. It reminds me a bit of the HTC HD7 combined with an iPhone 4 and that facade with the capacitive buttons doesn’t look that realistic.

Nokia Style features a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, a 32GB internal memory, a 2400 mAh battery and a 2 megapixel camera at the front, but other than that I have no idea what features this model has. I guess that it also supports LTE, NFC and maybe 1080p video capture, courtesy of that potent camera. With recent rumors that Nokia is preparing a Lumia 910 model with 12MP, I’d say that it would have similar specs to this unit, maybe apart from the Windows Phone Tango part…

I would have liked to see the back side of this model, as I have a feeling that it looks very much like the one of a HTC smartphone. wp7__fan, the designer of the Nokia Style mentions that his concept sports a metallic unibody case.

Nokia N-Gage 2, Return of the Gaming Phone From Nokia, With a Nintendo Twist This Time

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Nokia’s N-Gage device was a hit when it came out, but it quickly died because of the lack of games. Many people have been expecting a resurrection of the product for a while now, but all we have at the time are concepts, like the N-Gage N-02 design you can see below, created by AMAQUI (ibolzurikato).

We’re dealing here with a gaming phone that runs Windows Phone and has a Nintendo twist to the experience, as shown by its sliding area with gaming controls and secondary touch pad/screen. It’s strange to see Microsoft giving its OS to something that’s not Xbox-based and instead uses Nintendo technology, but stranger things have happened. This new Nokia N-Gage uses a 4.1 inch OLED Gorilla Glass display, supports NES carts (somehow) and it’s compatible with all the famous Nintendo ROMs.

Inside there’s a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor (in a dual core flavor probably) and we also get a 3D display, in case you’re wondering. Basically, imagine a hybrid between the Nintendo 3DS and a Windows Phone unit.. Would it sell better than the Xperia Play?

Nokia Colorful Concept Uses Asymmetry to Stand out

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Deviantart member Qromodynmc created a very colorful Nokia concept phone, dubbed YosePhone, that can be seen below. The key here is borrowing some element from the Nokia N8 and the N9 maybe and another important factory is asymmetry. Notice hone the left side is different from the right one, especially at the back and so is the lower area and upper side.

I can see this as the long awaited follow-up to the Nokia N8, with a potent 16 megapixel camera (it has been done by HTC Titan II at CES 2012), dual LED or maybe dual Xenon flash and some powerful speakers. The screen seems like an edge to edge affair, maybe a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen with a qHD or even HD resolution. Other than that I’m expecting a dual core processor inside and maybe some of that promised Symbian Donna action I’ve been hearing about.

What would you want to see on this phone and what other Nokia model do you think it resembles? Also, what OS do you fancy on it? As I said, I see it as Symbian Donna material…

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.You must’ve heard that Nokia decided to give up the name Symbian, simply naming the OS on its handsets Nokia Belle/Anna etc. Thus, this Nokia Hercule concept doesn’t run Symbian Donna, but rather Nokia Donna OS, to make it clear. This design, mockup or whatever you want to call it was done by Rawad Semaan and I have to say that it’s a breath of fresh air from current designs.

Nokia Hercule uses a 2GHz Scorpion CPU (Qualcomm MSM8255), an Adreno 205 GPU and a 4.7 inch S-LCD screen with 480 x 800 pixel display. The screen aspect sounds identical to the one on the HTC Sensation XL and HTC Titan, which is not necessarily bad. We get a surprising internal memory of 60GB, 1GB of RAM, 4G connectivity and Bluetooth 3.0, plus microUSB 3.0. At the back there’s an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash, geotagging and 720p video capture.

There’s also a secondary 5MP camera and an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and compass fill in the blanks of the hardware specs. Seeing the back of this Nokia concept, I can imagine that the texture on its back feels very nice in the user’s hand and those elegant lines remind me of an Armani suit. What do you think about this device and what do you think it lacks?

Nokia Prototype From Real Steel Movie Features Android Capacitive Buttons, MeeGo Icons

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.If you watched the movie Real Steel, you might have noticed that there’s a Nokia prototype phone that appears at minute 4 into the picture. The movie starring Hugh Jackman takes place in 2020, so this is a futuristic Nokia concept, one that seems to adopt both the Nokia N9 and N8 styling. Worst case scenario we’re dealing with an N9 with a special case that lights up, best case… this is a brand new phone!

The thing that puzzles me is that this Nokia prototype features 5 capacitive icons at the bottom of the screen, two of them being Back and Home buttons for sure and there’s also a Menu button in there. Considering there’s also something that looks like a notification bar at the top, are we to believe this is an Android Nokia phone?! However, considering that Symbian has already adopted the notification bar and the way the icons on the screen look (very much like MeeGo and Symbian), I’m thinking this device runs either Symbian Carla/Donna or maybe MeeGo Harmattan 2.0.

There’s also a scene with videocalling on this phone shown in the movie, but the interface was a bit childish and disappointing in that area, not taking advantage of the full screen area. This is not the first time Nokia does that, since we’ve seen a futuristic phone of theirs in the movie Star Trek from a few years ago and then the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic appeared in Batman The Dark Knight and there was a very Nokia-like tablet in Tron Legacy.

You can see this comparison below and know that the newer handset is expected to surface at CES 2012 that starts next week in Las Vegas.

This is not an official picture of the Nokia Lumia 900 aka Nokia Ace and as far as I know this phone also goes by the codename Eloko. We’re expecting here an AT&T Windows Phone unit, with 1700MHz band support, 512MB of RAM, a 4.3 inch WVGA display and an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss technology. A 1.4GHz CPU and 16GB of storage are pretty much sure features and there’s also an 1830mAh battery in the mix, according to inside sources.

The thickness of this device is about 12mm, so it’s the same as the one of the Lumia 800. I can’t help but wonder if this handset will actually run Windows Phone Tango, as it was rumored at some point, in order to bring LTE to the Windows Phone scene…

Nokia Xbox Tablet is a Gaming Device Based on Nvidia Tegra 4 (Wayne) Processing

Meet the Nokia Xbox tablet, a gaming device imagined by Bob Freking, who also wants the Nvidia Tegra 4 (Wayne) processor on this slate. This is intended as a competitor for the Sony Tablet S and Tablet P and it comes in 320GB and 250GB versions.

The Nokia Xbox tablet is supposed to provide the Xbox gaming experience on the go and the designer warns us that this device can become expensive. You can download real Xbox games on it and convert/render the graphics so it doesn’t use up too much battery and memory. The Nokia Tablet is supposed to be called Nokia X Slate and it will pack 2 GB of RAM, the Nvidia Tegra 4 Wayne processor (1.5GHz) and a big 9500 mAh battery.

This device can dual boot Windows 8 or the dashboard and Nokia X Slate has 2 USB ports, a mini HDMI, a 2 megapixel front camera, WiFi support, 4G/3G connectivity and more. The form factor is a bit sloped, so it’s thinner at the top and bulkier at the bottom. Would you like this more than the Sony Tablet S?
