We continue to show you the results of the LG Design the Future Competition and today we’ve found the LG Flutter concept smartphone. This device received the first-ever Prop Mater’s Choice Award, given to Dua Xiong for the great design shown below.

The LG Flutter concept phone will have the unique opportunity of being featured in a future blockbuster film. This smartphone opens up like a fan, as shown in the image above and reveals a flexible OLED touchscreen display that scrolls radially.
Since this is a device that tends to look like a weapon, we’ll speculate that it’ll be featured in a superhero movie… or maybe a sci-fi production?

eBooks and e-readers aren’t dead yet, in spite of the iPad’s success, so there’s room for new products. One of them could be the flexible e-reader concept, shown below and created by Dragan Trencevski. Dubbed the eRoll, this device reminds us of a very sexy
PSP concept we’ve seen a while back.

eRoll uses a rollable flexible screen and it can be turned from an average e-reader to a baton. Gone are the rigid displays and fragile devices we had to carry around in order to read while commuting.
Let’s just hope that this baton comes with connectivity options and maybe Internet connectivity, else the iPad is still a better alternative.

At this point it doesn’t seem at all incredible to wear a PC around your wrist, specially with the current technology developments. However, Hiromi Kiriki created a concept that totally blew our mind, the Sony Nextep Computer, that can be worn on the wrist, detached and turned into a brilliant PC, as you can see in the following pictures.

This concept computer is based on a fleixble OLED touchscreen and there’s also a holographic projector in the mix, to replace the screen. Extra keyboard panels will pull out from the device and social networking is also among the features.
A wearable computer sounds a bit sci-fi, but think about Microsoft Surface and how it would have sounded like back in 90s… Thumbs up, to the designer of the Sony device!

Alcatel still lives, although the brand doesn’t release many phones these days. Thankfully, we have some concepts of Alcatel clamshell handsets to look at, courtesy of designer Eric Xialei. He created the following
stylish devices pictured below:

The Alcatel concept phone you can see above is a stylish piece of work, with an unique shape and chrome finish. The handset is based on a simple design and it comes with a 2 megapixel camera, music keys and an OLED display.
There’s also the Chonos design, shown below, with an user-friendly design and incredibly easy access to music features. Bluetooth is also on board and these two classy Alcatel devices sure look promising, so let’s hope they become real.

We’ve speculated concerning the last 3 features, but don’t all the smartphones nowadays come with those, plus GPS, a virtual touchscreen and a 3.5mm audio jack?

We’ve seen concept phones with projectors before, but how about handsets with incorporated 3D screens? One such device is the LG Glide phone, created by Sothearit Kim and featuring a 10 megapixel camera, with support for video recording and flash, among others.

LG Glide also packs a 3D OLED touchscreen display, a solar charging cell, placed underneath the screen, personal voice recognition identification and an original sliding QWERTY keyboard. This design reminds us of an older portable console of some sort, but it also looks a bit like modern fixed phones.
What do you think?
