HTC Magnesium Unibody Device Uses Extra Battery Module Loading ... Rybarczyk Francois had a brilliant idea of creating a HTC concept with a magnesium unibody frame and an extra battery module, that will increase the functioning time of the handset. There lower back side of the phone is imprinted with a pattern done through machining. You can set this phone to charge directly onto the wall and as far as I can see the device incorporates the charger that you’ll attach to the socket.

There’s also the option of leaving an extra battery module to charge and attaching it to the device for a fast juice up of the smartphone. This HTC design looks pretty fancy and the idea of having the prongs and charging mechanism integrated into the phone is certainly interesting. The design reminds a bit of the recent HTC Edge quad core phone render and it’s very sleek and elegant. This rounded device gives me the impression that it’s actually one of those smaller cellphones, with a 3.2 inch diagonal or close.

As you can see, in some versions this handset runs Windows Phone and in others Android, with the associated capacitive keys being placed below the display. I must say that I like particularly the version with Android and its capacitive keys…

Sony Xperia Eterion Mystery Smartphone Has Interesting Shortcut Buttons Loading ... Frank Tobias just published a new Sony Xperia design that’s pretty mysterious, since there are no specs attached to it. However, the designer promised to unveil new Sony Xperia Eterion pictures as soon as he creates more. In the meantime you can have a look at this smartphone with straight lines and an interesting set of 4 shortcut buttons below the display.

Sony Xperia Eterion Mystery Smartphone Has Interesting Shortcut Buttons

The Xperia Eterion is referred to as a flagship model, with CrystalLED full HD display and most likely a 12 megapixel camera. The screen here is a 4.5 inch unit, I guess and this model may well be a quad core unit, but I’m only speculating, so don’t take my word for granted. It would be cool if those buttons at the bottom were actually tiny capacitive screens with 3D projections of their functions… of course that’s only a dream of mine, but Frank is free to elaborate on that idea if he likes it.

I can see that using NovaThor processors will become a trend on Sony Xperia devices, as shown by recent leaks, so I guess that this handset also has one. Can anyone tell me the difference between NovaThor, a Snapdragon and a TI OMAP processor?

Mobikoma Concept Phone Uses Modules Fastened to Each Other Via Micro Locks Loading ... Modular devices seem to be getting more and more trendy, just like the Mobikoma concept phone, created by Kamil Izrailov. This handset is actually made out of small squares of pure technology, small little gadgets that are fastened to each other through micro locks. Each module has its own battery and processor and gathered they all generate a big computing device and big power source.

Mobikoma Concept Phone Uses Modules Fastened to Each Other Via Micro Locks

You can use Mobikoma collectively as a phone, or even a mini tablet, by adding a few extra modules. Two specific little gadgets are dedicated to the SIM storage, phone memory and microphone. You also get programmed buttons on some of the key pieces of this technologic puzzle. On the side surfaces of the modules in the middle there are apertures and the locks of these elements come apart after pushing a pin into an aperture. The maximum size of all these modules gathered together can be 1.5 x 2 m, which is huge, to be honest.

With 54 elements you create a tablet, while 2 elements make a very tiny cellphone (22mm x 44mm x6mm) and 18 elements make a decent smartphone. You can shape the ideal gear like an U, like an O, like a cross or whatever your heart desires. As the images show, this is a Windows device, so it gives you access to all the famous formats and codecs when it comes to media playback. No mention of the camera though…

Samsung Galaxy S III Leaked in Samsung Presentation Loading ... We’ve shown your our share of renders and mockups of the Samsung Galaxy S III, but this time we’re dealing a leak of the handset, that’s shown below. This is a frame from an official Samsung presentation at CES 2012, that somehow was missed by people on major blogs last week, when it all went down in Las Vegas. Now everyone is discussing whether or not this is the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Samsung Galaxy S III Leaked in Samsung Presentation

Seeing the size of those fingers next to the device, I’m tempted to believe that this is actually the Galaxy Note, or maybe a follow-up to that device. It’s incredible how small the bezels of this gadget are, especially on the sides, but that may be a case of an image being applied on top of an already existing gadget, without taking into account the bezels. The Home button is also pretty classic for the Galaxy series of devices. I have to remind you that rumors say we should expect a quad core Exynos processor on the Galaxy S III and a 4.6 inch Super AMOLED next gen screen.

There should also be a 12 megapixel camera, TouchWiz 5.0, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, LTE, NFC and a powerful battery inside. We’ll see the REAL device at MWC 2012 next month!

HTC H1, a Bulky Android Phone That Looks Rugged

HTC H1, a Bulky Android Phone That Looks Rugged Loading ... We go back to 2010 for the HTC H1 concept phone, a device that looks rugged and bulky. This is the kind of gadgets you find on a construction site or in places where the robots from Transformers fight… you know like Cybertron. Joke aside, this creation belongs to Saeid Khajevand from Tehran, Iran and he did a good job in designing an original handset.

HTC H1, a Bulky Android Phone That Looks Rugged

The X shaped pattern on the back of the phone is very interesting and as you can see this bulky smartphone comes with a 12 megapixel camera, a 3 inch TFT LCD display, a mini USB connector, a front speaker, a secondary VGA camera and side speakers. At the back there’s also a Xenon flash and we also get LED notification lights and multi-function capacitive buttons under the display (those two, on the left and right), plus a microSD card slot. If there’s any feature that doesn’t impress you remember that this is a HTC concept from 2010.

If this device would ever be redone, it would be thinner, but I’d like it to keep that X format at the back, since it’s cool and I also like the variation in thickness at the back of the device. There are some slopes and asymmetry to gain from here, beautiful ideas really… As you can see there’s also a stylus in the mix, so this may be some sort of rugged business PDA device.

Nokia N-Gage 2, Return of the Gaming Phone From Nokia, With a Nintendo Twist This Time

Nokia N Gage 2, Return of the Gaming Phone From Nokia, With a Nintendo Twist This Time Loading ... Nokia’s N-Gage device was a hit when it came out, but it quickly died because of the lack of games. Many people have been expecting a resurrection of the product for a while now, but all we have at the time are concepts, like the N-Gage N-02 design you can see below, created by AMAQUI (ibolzurikato).

Nokia N Gage 2, Return of the Gaming Phone From Nokia, With a Nintendo Twist This Time

We’re dealing here with a gaming phone that runs Windows Phone and has a Nintendo twist to the experience, as shown by its sliding area with gaming controls and secondary touch pad/screen. It’s strange to see Microsoft giving its OS to something that’s not Xbox-based and instead uses Nintendo technology, but stranger things have happened. This new Nokia N-Gage uses a 4.1 inch OLED Gorilla Glass display, supports NES carts (somehow) and it’s compatible with all the famous Nintendo ROMs.

Inside there’s a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor (in a dual core flavor probably) and we also get a 3D display, in case you’re wondering. Basically, imagine a hybrid between the Nintendo 3DS and a Windows Phone unit.. Would it sell better than the Xperia Play?

Fujitsu Laptop Concept Is Also a Camera, a Phone, a Tablet Loading ... Prashant Chandra proposes to us a concept for a Fujitsu laptop, that integrates a handset, a camera and a tablet. This Lifebook device is basically a laptop, that uses a camera that can detach itself from the basic gadget, as can do the slate and the handset. The slate is actually the virtual keyboard that can be integrated via pins (16 pin connector).

Fujitsu Laptop Concept Is Also a Camera, a Phone, a Tablet

The Fujitsu laptop concept doesn’t have its own keypad, so it relies on the tablet for this purpose. The tablet, once inserted into the laptop it displays a QWERTY keyboard and can probably be used as a secondary display and maybe as a larger touchpad or maybe even a gaming control area. Hardware sharing is not an idea that has been applied with success so far and among the advances we find a single point charging for all devices and lack of wires, as everything syncs easily with each other.

The tablet can also enter sketch mode, so it can be used to draw stuff and become a useful tool for designers. The camera on this Lifebook device looks particularly cool and the entire laptop also seems to have a variety of ports, it supports WiFi, Bluetooth and most likely has an Intel Core iX CPU inside, if I were to guess. The display diagonal should be around 13 to 16 inches.

LG xoxo Phone Designed for the Business Lady

LG xoxo Phone Designed for the Business Lady Loading ... Chris Youn, the same guy that gave us two great iPhone concepts now published a LG concept design, the xoxo. This one is intended for the business lady and it looks particularly appealing. The example given here is a young woman called Cathy Kim, who lives in New York and works as a freelance architect. She has to prepare for her presentations and still socialize with the aid of her phone…

LG xoxo Phone Designed for the Business Lady

That’s why the LG xoxo is appealing to her and this device seems to be some sort of clamshell, that can separate into two units. One of them is the keyboard and one of them is the display, both of them interacting via wireless connections. The whole LG xoxo measures 0.5 inches in thickness and weighs 1.1 lb. The interface on this LG concept phone seems to be very original and appealing and the keyboard looks comfortable.

Apparently you can also plug in one of these handsets to the server managing all the information the user needs. To me this looks like a square touchscreen phone, a unique format that has failed to catch on over the past years. It’s really nice that you can separate this smartphone into two parts, with one being the remote keyboard and the other the touchscreen. I wonder how much distance can be put between two parts of the LG xoxo device… Would a young lady really have an use for this unit? Let’s imagine some specs now: 4.7 inch touchscreen, 720p resolution, 2GHz dual core phone, 8MP camera, 32GB of memory.

iPhone 5 Features 3D Crystal Display, 16MP Camera  Loading ... The same guy who created this beautiful iPhone 6 concept is back with an iPhone 5 design. Chris Youn, from Flushing, New York gives us a next generation Apple handset with a 3D Crystal touchscreen, a 16 megapixel camera and a faster Bluetooth technology on board. It also has a strong 2.6GHz processor and it can provide up to 24 hours of video playback.

iPhone 5 Features 3D Crystal Display, 16MP Camera

This iPhone 5 concept guarantees up to 52 hours of audio playback , so it must have an impressive battery and I wonder how Apple managed to fit that in, but this is a mere design after all. The handset measures 0.38 inches in thickness and its volume buttons are very interesting and futuristic. Notice how the phone appears to get wider at the top and its slightly curved upper and lower edge. Somehow this reminds a bit of the Nokia X7, but with a more rounded approach.

I’m more interested in those cute speakers that are bundled with the phone here, since they look really nice… What do you say?

iPhone 6 Features 3D Curved Super AMOLED Plus Display and Eye Control Loading ... It’s been a while since I’ve seen an iPhone 6 concept here, so this one is welcome. Created by Chris Youn, the iPhone 6 design you see below is pretty impressive. We’re dealing with a 3D smartphone that uses a great display, a curved design and also supports eyepoint control, voice command and some sort of hologram graphics.

iPhone 6 Features 3D Curved Super AMOLED Plus Display and Eye Control

This iPhone 6 is based on 3D sound and 3D hologram interaction and it comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a curved one that enhances the features of all current screens. It makes the design slimmer and it makers the battery better, apparently. This device measures 8.49mm and it has a pretty good grip, according to its designer. What’s funny is that it also comes with a 3D TouchWiz UX, that Samsung would NEVER give to anyone, especially Apple.

The CPU inside is a dual core unit, with “lightning speed”, so I expect something around 2GHz here. So… are you ready for a 3D hologram phone with eye control, voice control and great battery life? Or is it too early?
