Bon Seop-Ku had an original idea when it came to his
Samsung concept phone: an interface that relies on water bubbles manipulated by electric current. Dubbed the Aquaphone, the handset is pictured below and looks like a very fragile piece of gadgetry, but a fashionable item, too.

It will be interesting to learn how the battery of this device will be incorporated into the Samsung Aquaphone and we guess that the display is only limited to black, white and gray maybe. It would be cool if some other substance, besides water was involved. Any ideas? This concept could be the start of something cool and maybe a new type of e-readers?

Rotary phones are coming back in fashion, since we’ve seen at least two handset designs involving such a mechanism. Samsung Jot is also added to the list, courtesy of designer Raymond Bessemer, the creator of this rotary dial cellphone.

The device doesn’t rely solely on the circular buttons, so it also features a touchpad and stylus, as shown in the following image. “Jot” comes from the handset’s function that allows its user to jot down notes and text messages. An OLED display is also part of the specs and remember this is ONLY a Samsung phone design for now, so don’t expect it to pop up in stores yet.

Some folks keep criticizing us for publishing concepts that look bad, sketches of devices that look as if they were drawn by kids and so on… Well, we aim to show you everything, the good and the bad and let you be the judges. How about we cut a kid some slack this time and check out the Samsung Galaxy Eclipse, a concept phone created by 12 year old Ali Siddiqui.

Don’t be that harsh and try to remember what you were drawing when you were 12… I must’ve been doodling at the time, to be honest. Not much to say about the Eclipse, aside from the fact that it’s probably going to become real, since the Galaxy S was hugely successful and it’ll probably have a QWERTY follow-up.
Android is running on the handset, as shown by these sketches, that also picture a sliding 4 row QWERTY keyboard. What do you say? Thumbs up or down?

Created by Yanlei Wu, the Samsung Flaske concept phone is a social networking-oriented gadget that’s designed for the ladies. Also, it relies on fuel cell power to function, thus becoming a sustainable device. GPS, geotagging and photo uploads are also supported on this Samsung handset.

Samsung Flaske works in 3 modes (as shown in the images below) and it allows the user to speed dial, text friends, exchange voice messages, IM and stay connected with friends via social networks. The battery level on the device is shown by an indicator that’s very easy to read. Sold, ladies?

Smartphones with 2GHz CPUs seem to be the new trend, as we’ve seen a
Motorola concept with such a processing power just days ago and now a Samsung unit promises to deliver the same. We’ve stumbled upon the following render of the Samsung i9200 Galaxy S2, a design that would fit such a powerful device.

Supposed to be launched in 2011, the unit packs a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED 2 display, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, an 8 megapixel camera with full HD video recording, 32GB of internal memory, Bluetooth 3.0, accelerometer, WiFi b/g/n and A-GPS. Android 3.0 is the OS of choice for the Galaxy S2. Is this a viable smartphone of the year 2011?

Johan Loekito has found a way for you not to lose your mobile phone ever again. It’s called Samsung Proxima and it’s a concept that involves a cellphone with a wristband acting like a dock. The handset is detachable and it gets pictured below.

There’s also a proximity sensor on board of the Samsung concept phone, making the wristband emit a tone or vibrate if the phone is too far from it. This also helps the user find the device with a single button press. Samsung Proxima is able to detect other users with the same phone in your area and lets you contact them.
Of course, privacy settings can be changed, so you can hide your whereabouts.

Erik Campbell designed a very original Samsung
bracelet phone, a wearable mobile device concept that relies on memory alloy articulation. This smartphone is destined to reach the wrists of athletes, adventurers and tech freaks from all over the world. Here’s the design:

This device uses an OLED touchscreen display, a tactile keypad and a “split pad design”, in order to improve the air circulation and get rid of the hands’ sweat. Extreme sports gear and flexible electronics plus touchscreen… what more can you want?
You can even view YouTube and use G Talk on this Samsung concept phone while riding your mountain bike…

In case you’re not familiar with Samsung Galaxy S, you have to know that this smartphone was announced this week and that it comes with 33% of the video processing power of a PlayStation 3 console. Apparently, a version upgraded with a QWERTY keyboard is coming in June and the folks of
HDblog.it created a render of it:

The Samsung phone design looks pretty appealing and we have to mention that the handset incorporates a Super AMOLED display, a 1GHz CPU and tons of memory and processing power, being able to process 90 million triangles per second.

Esato board user RKSynth created a
Samsung concept phone called the Alatydo, packing a very interesting set of specifications. The handset comes with an incredible Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.3 GHz processor and a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

There are not futuristic specs, since it’s possible that we’ll see such devices in 2010, maybe released by HTC first, not Samsung. Back to the concept, we also learn that Samsung Alatydo comes with TouchWiz UI 2.0, an 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, WiFi with DLNA, GPS, 32GB of internal memory and FM radio with RDS.
The Samsung handset also features tri-band 3G with HSDPA (7.2Mbps) connectivity, Bluetooth and USB 2.0, plus a 3.5mm audio jack and an accelerometer sensor.

We’ve just come across what seems to be a Photoshop work of a
Samsung phone, pretending to be a real mobile phone. This seemingly new device is inspired by Samsung’s Crystal Design applied to the company’s LCD TVs. Expect this story to develop into something more interesting, as specs and probably live pictures leak out.
