Zuckabaecka, an Esato forum user tried his Photoshop skills by designing the following
Sony Ericsson Walkman concept phone, that he named W925. It’s a fairly simple device, probably a mid-end one relying more on the storage space provided by its card, than on the internal memory.

Walkman player on board and maybe a 3 MP camera at the back… that should be the description of the handset.. Well, I am just guessing, so things might change till the designer completes his project.

Here’s another
PSP concept, a so-called “PSP 2″, without having the “Phone” attached to its name, this time… Notice the pretty decent camera at the back and an interesting layout of the keys. This is en ergonomic gadget, although I have the feeling that some of the user’s fingers will be touching the camera’s lens.

Also, I hope that the action buttons and D-pad keys are not too embedded in the console and I would that they would stick out more, while being rigid, but still ease to use. Hmm… interesting… Only now I noticed that the device is branded Sony Ericsson… Could this be a PSP Phone, after all?

Oh my God! I didn’t expect to see the 8 megapixel camera – Walkman player combo too soon, but here it is and it’s known as Hikaru, NOT a
Sony Ericsson concept, but a real device. Hikaru is a slider phone with metal housing and probably the only really high end music handset in years…

It’s got a 2.6 inches display, 8 GB memory, Walkman player 4.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack, stereo speakers and music keys. Expect it to be announced at Mobile World Congress 2009 and launched at the end of Q2 2009. Brilliant!

Tob!s from the Esato board designed yet another Android handset, probably a Sony Ericsson XPERIA device, known as the X3. After so many
X2 concepts, a follow-up (at least in naming) is a breath of fresh air.

As usual, the handset features a touchscreen display, the classic Android UI, but I can’t help noticing that this version is a tad shorter than the others.
Can this be considered a sort of XPERIA mini or even a… “nano”?

There are very few things out there that deserve to be labeled as “extremely stylish”, but this Sony Ericsson concept phone is one of them. J. Havrlant is at it again, designing yet another beautiful handset in the
Ryuga series, inspired by the Mazda concept car with the same name.
Enter Sony Ericsson W903 Ryuga:

This concept Walkman phone features an OLED touchscreen display, a web feed reader, games, video playback and surely the famous Walkman player. Notice how the gorgeous interface emulates the design of the handset, that resembles the look of Mazda Ryuga. I’d buy such a device! Would you?

I guess I can say that the
XPERIA X2 is no longer a mystery to me, since I’ve seen at least 10 concepts of this device. One would think the designers enjoy creating Android G2 concepts, but the XPERIA has something magical about it, that makes concept creators become inspired.
This is FlamEmo’s second concept phone and the Esato user did something unique, by implementing the Symbian S60 touch platform on the X2.

Well, at least theoretically he did, as the interface reminds me of the Android OS. It could be the S60 with an Android-like skin… who knows. Spec(ulation)s? Touchscreen surely, huge internal memory, decent camera (hopefully 8 megapixel) and tons of stuff you’ve seen on the Nokia N97 specs list.

Well, I got two things right the first time I checked out Sealover94′s
concept phone: the Sony Ericsson device really is a smartphone and does feature the Android OS. And what does “smartphone” in the same sentence with Sony Ericsson tell you? That’s right, XPERIA all the way!

We’ve seen Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 concept phones before, but each handset was better looking than the last one, which is also the case of Sealover’s design. There’s even a neat logo close to the bottom of the device, an original idea that combines the Android logo with SE’s classical emblem.
Other than that, the XPERIA X2 is what everyone would expect: a smartphone that packs a pretty big touchscreen, the classic Android interface, touch-sensitive (or virtual) “Back”, “Home” and “Menu” keys, plus two calls keys at the bottom and a navigational mechanism. What more can I say? Me likey!!

Sealover94 from the Esato forum designed a brand new
Sony Ericsson concept phone, pictured below in a pretty blurry image. No info on the handset’s name, no specs, nada… All we can notice is that it features Android OS and its design rather reminds me of a smartphone or a Cyber-shot device, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see the Walkman branding on it.

The concept handset packs a touchscreen display and a couple of buttons beneath the screen, probably used for navigation and calling functions.

We don’t only show uber-smartphones ready for launch or
hot concept phones with many gigs of memory on board, but also low end devices that look good and mid-range phones like the one below, created by Xell from Esato.

Sony Ericsson W502 is the candybar version of W508, considered by Esato user Tranced a hybrid between K700, W890 and W610. Seeing the words on the phone’s poster makes me think that it (obviously) supports gesture-based control and uses an accelerometer.
I wonder how long it will take till we start controlling our handsets through complex dance movements, or simply by playing Dance, Dance Revolution…

We’ve seen a
Myspace phone at some point, but it wasn’t as promising as this great social device, Sony Ericsson Nan, centred around Facebook support and neat Android widgets. The design belongs to the great WhiteEye, creator of the SE San concept handset.
Among those you’ll find YouTube, Blogger, MySpace, Friendster, Multiply and you’ll be able to customize them at will.

Sony Ericsson Nan is a mid-end web-oriented device, that packs a 3 inch TFT multitouch screen (320 x 480 pixels), a 5.1 megapixels autofocus camera with photo flash and a secondary VGA camera. Android OS is also on the specs list, together with WiFi 802.11 b/g support, aGPS Google Chrome and Picasa for Android.
Notice the full Chrome browser that should be featured on this concept device? We’ve yet to see such an initiative, but I can bet that in 2009 there will be at least one handset using a mobile version of Chrome, if not the full one.
