After the tennis-oriented teaser
here, Victor Cao is back with a Sony Ericsson concept called Xperia Ace. This new device is an excellent cameraphone, thanks to the 10x optical zoom it supports and the 26mm wide lens it comes with.

Exmor R technology is also in the mix, as well as Sony lens G and support for Full HD 60 fps video recording. Xperia Ace is a dual core phone with a 2.5GHz CPU, that helps it run Android 2.4. The specs list of the Xperia concept includes a 4.3 inch Bravia touchscreen, NFC, HDMI, 64GB of storage and a 2000mAh battery.
There’s also WiFi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 on board. Would you replace your prosumer camera with this device?

[Thanks Victor!]

Victor Cao has sent us the teaser below, making us (and you) guess what the next Sony Ericsson concept would be about. Considering that the Roland Garros tournament is taking place right now, this is the only link I can see to the Sony Ericsson brand.

If I were to look deeper into this poster, I’d say that we’re about to see a device that can be used as a Wii remote in order to play a tennis game. Did I get it right? Any other ideas?
[Thanks Victor]

After a period of pause,
Frank Tobias is back with a design called Sony Ericsson X3. This is a dual core smartphone with a 2.5GHz CPU and the handset is pictrured below. Notice the big screen and form factor that makes me think of Nokia (not sure why).

Sony Ericsson X3 comes with a 10 megapixel camera with HD 1080p video capture, a 4.2 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 920 pixels and the dual core processor we mentioned. The internal memory is 64GB and the OS of the concept is unknown, although it could be either Android or Windows Phone 7.

Unless I’m mistaking, the Sony Ericsson concept below is running Windows Phone 7 and if you want to know its source of inspiration, know that Esato board member zimB used the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. This concept car’s form factor was integrated with the WP UI, although I’m not quite happy with the lower part of the screen that looks pasted onto the car…

Considering the poor job that ASUS did with the Lamborghini phone it had and then canceled, I’d take this model any day over that failure. Hopefully, Sony Ericsson will turn this unit into something better and give it a shape that’s easier to grasp.

Remember when our site and a bunch of other sites got excited over a new leaked
Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone? Well, we fell for it, since this was a concept created by
Shane A. Bygrave who now details his work in the following pics.

Known as Sony Ericsson Cyber-Shot Yiko, the device runs Android in the typical SE customized way. The device comes with a 16 megapixel camera, with Exmor R technology and a powerful flash. The form factor of the handset reminds me of the Xperia Arc, especially with the curved shape of the Yiko and its low thickness.
Should we consider this an Xperia Arc with an upgraded camera?

Long-Nong Huang imagined a Samsung Galaxy S II model with extra features and called it the Samsung Galaxy X. This handset uses the same 1.2GHz dual core CPU, a 4 inch Super AMOLED Plus display and 768MB of RAM, while the extra feature is the 12 megapixel camera able to shoot video in full HD.

The phone measures 8.9mm in thickness and it would make a nice addition to the already growing Galaxy series from Samsung. All that’s lacking now is a music phone, since we already have a cameraphone and a super smartphone in this series.

I really trust in the sharp eye of the people reading our site, so here it goes. I’ve just come across the supposed leaked images of a new Sony Ericsson smartphone from the Cyber-shot series. This handset is supposed to run Android and the blurry-cam shot below is as blurry as it gets.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t want this to be real, but it seems too good to be true. We’re dealing with a Sony Ericsson touchscreen handset with the Cyber-shot logo upfront. No images of the back of the device, so we can only dream of a Xenon flash or better. Optical zoom is also on our wish list, together with a nifty Honeycomb-style camera menu.
What do you say? Fake or real?

User angad2050 from the Esato board recently posted the Xperia Grip concept online, a device that looks pretty hot. For me it has a certain rugged twist to it and I’m intrigued to see Android 3.0 Honeycomb among the specs, especially with Google I/O 2011 coming soon and probably bringing Honeycomb to smartphones.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Grip design includes a 4.2 inch Sony Bravia Mobile Display LED, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. There’s also a 10MP camera with autofocus and support for 720p HD recording, while GPS and WiFi complete the specs list. The shape of the device is very ergonomic and I really can’t shake the feeling that this is one of those rugged handsets…

It’s been a while since our last post with a concept made by an Esato board user, so here we are again, with a Sony Ericsson device running Android 1.6. The design belongs to user RKSynth, who keeps it classical and simple, as far as the UI is concerned.

Android 1.6 is the OS of choice and the design looks more like a combo between HTC and Sony Ericsson, but one with very rectangular edges. No idea on what the specs are here, but we’re guessing there’s at least a 3MP camera at the back, a 3.5 inch display upfront and maybe 2GB or more of internal storage.
There’s no need for dual core CPU or even a 1GHz one in this situation so an older 600MHz processor will do. Keep this handset cheap and you’ve got yourself the perfect low end device of the future.

Windows Phone 8 is not something we’re familiar with and we can only imagine that it will be a fantastic OS. Well, who would have thought about a WP8 concept phone when the
teaser here surfaced? Victor Cao created the Sony Ericsson Xperia Leon, an incredible device, with a dual core 2GHz processor and a futuristic WP version.

The super smartphone uses a future Office suite and the concept Transolid UI, that seems to be transparent. High end specs of the Xperia Leon also include NFC, wireless HDMI, a 3.2MP front camera and a 12 megapixel back camera, plus a 1800 mAh battery. The body of the device is incredibly slim, a feat achieved by incorporating a 1080p OLED touchscreen.
The 12MP camera uses autofocus and is capable of HD 1080p capture at 60 fps, accompanied by the use of a multi LED flash. All major Sony technologies are here, from the 4.4 inch Bravia 1080p screen, to the Walkman music player, plus Cybershot imaging and PlayStation certification. I really have no words but praise for this new eXperience…

[Thanks Victor Cao!]
