This new smartphone looks like an XPERIA X1 alternative, but one that’s branded Willcom. The 03 handset was introduced at CEATEC 2008 in Japan and we’re dealing with a slider that features a 3 inch display with a 480 x 800 resolution.
The specs list also includes 1-Seg support, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2 megapixel camera, microSD memory card slot and Windows Mobile 6.1.
No info on pricing and availability, but you should know that Willcom 03 will be available in Japan first, so it might not make it worldwide too soon. The battery of this device is incredible, lasting 420 hours in standby mode and functioning 360 hours in talk mode.

CEATEC 2008 is here to reveal the latest mobile tech concepts, so Fujitsu and NTT DoCoMo amazed the public already with the aid of Separeeto Keitai, the phone that splits in two separate pieces. One is the screen and the other is the keyboard segment.
With the display you’ll be able to make calls, while the keyboard will be used for writing emails or text messages while talking on the phone.
The two parts of the handset are connected via magnet and Bluetooth and you should know that the touchscreen responds to its position: if it’s vertical, it’ll show a numeric keypad, if it’s attached horizontally to the other segment it will show a character entry mode or a virtual game pad. So, you’ll be able to write emails or start a gaming session on the go.

DoCoMo isn’t finished showing off its innovations at CEATEC 2008 and the event goes on. After seeing its neat “phone that splits” concept developed with Fujitsu, it’s time to witness the birth of a new version of 3G connectivity, the 3GLTE. Plus, there are more concept phones to check out, some with projectors, as you can see in the pics below.
3GLTE is way faster than 3G, going up to 250Mbps (download) and 50 Mbps (upload). DoCoMo put this connectivity option to the test, by connecting two PlayStation consoles with its aid.
No lag folks! What about 4G? Also, we find out that 3GLTE will be coming in 2010, so that’s good news for the rest of the world… in 2011 or so. The following pics show more DoCoMo concept phones, some with superior multimedia features, that would make a PMP jealous.

CEATEC 2008 is alive and kicking right now, this event being the perfect opportunity for great handset manufacturers to show off their concept phones. We’ve seen the neat design of Fujitsu and DoCoMo and now it’s time to check out KDDI’s booth.
In there we find the music instrument-phones we loved when we first discovered them months ago plus a few new “space age” strange handsets. These can be admired in the picture above, looking very much like satellites. Notice those huge solar panels? Now, THAT’s going to provide some extra hours of battery life!

The height of all technology can be seen these days at CEATEC 2008, where the star of the day was a concept phone created by a partnership between Fujitsu and DocoMo. This handset can be split in two parts, the screen and keyboard, with the display handling the software and interface, while the keyboard can be used for networking and radio functions.
This handset’s keypad is in fact a touchpad, which you can use horizontally or vertically and even stick it to a side of the phone’s screen, with the aid of a magnet. You can also choose to stick it below the screen or anywhere you like, as long as the magnet bonds the two parts of the phone together.
It’s important to mention that the two main components communicate via Bluetooth and that they can be used separately for multimedia playback. Let’s see these on the market now! More CEATEC 2008 updates soon!
