We’ll see Cyber-shot handsets with megapixel counts that are higher than 8 in 2009 for sure, but for the units that stick to that figure, design will be crucial in the years to come. Some day 8 megapixel will be “low end”… Some day, Sony Ericsson will make a 20 megapixel cameraphone…
Till that day comes we can have a look at this breath-taking Sony Ericsson C909 Audi R8 V10 Edition concept phone, designed by Tob!s and posted on Esato:

Some say that the “spyshots” of the device are made using a Photoshopped HTC Touch HD, which is quite possible, but still a great job. Combining the Audi and Sony Ericsson brands you get elegance, style and neat features (we can suppose). From the looks of it, the concept phone’s display is at least a 3 inch one and there should be some neat camera editing software in there, too…
After all’s said and done, we must remind you that we are yet to see a hot (and real) cameraphone with a touchscreen display.

One can’t even go to bed and wake up the next morning, without finding out that a new SE concept design has hit the prolific Esato board. After J. Havrlant did 3 versions of the
T903 Ryuga, Sealover94 decided to share his vision on the future of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones.
This time, the W1 concept phone gets pictured front and back, where it reveals a nice 8 megapixel camera.

I’ve been watching the evolution of SE concepts for quite a while now and there’s a pretty strong tendency of blending Cyber-shot and Walkman handsets. Why doesn’t Sony Ericsson do it? It’s a mystery to me… It might be that a music phone with a hot camera would have a high price tag.

Sometimes, concept phones just aren’t enough and we have a look at concept interfaces… They matter too, as one would never imagine a successful HTC Touch Diamond without that TouchFLO 3D interface. Back to
Sony Ericsson, razec, from the Esato board has recently designed an UI that combines Android’s interface with a touch of UIQ.
The result can be seen below and it’s highly probable, due to the fact that Sony Ericsson joined the Open Handset Alliance (Android’s makers) last week.

The last
Sony Ericsson W1 concept phone looked pretty standard, when compared to the new one, designed by sealover94 from Esato. He might have gotten the inspiration to create a touchscreen Walkman phone when he found out that Sony is preparing its first touch Walkman player…

This is a more playful approach to the Walkman series, but if you want another spectacular design, there’s always the W1000. Nice interface on this W1!

Sony Ericsson has just joined the Open Handset Alliance and claims that it’s preparing an Android Phone for mid-2009, but designers have already seen the future an projected it on virtual paper. Xell, from Esato designed the
Sony Ericsson Google Phone concept, bearing the name of G703.
You take a little bit from XPERIA, a G1 influence and a hot QWERTY keypad, plus Google web apps and you’ve got the Google Phone below:

Kudos to the designer, specially since he claims that this is a quick concept and not the final masterpiece.

Clauf from the Esato board showed the world his vision regarding a new Sony Ericsson T device, the T905, which is more of a Cybershot handset than anything else. This is one of those rare occasions when the designer of the concept phone offers the public more specs than pictures of the handset.

The T905 comes with a 2.6 inches BRAVIA touchscreen with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, quadband GSM 850/900/1800/1900 support and 3G HSDPA 1800/1900/2100 connectivity. On the specs list of this hybrid you’ll also find an accelerometer, aGPS, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash and stereo speakers.
Clauf’s handset uses A300 software like a task manager, a Facebook app, Flash or Java widgets, Gmail, Picasa, Google Maps and many others. I, for one am very content about these specs, but I’d like more images to go along with them.

Muhammad-Oli from the Esato board has shown the world his concept phones in the past and they were all greatly appreciated, but this time we’re dealing with “live” photos of a device that doesn’t even exist yet: the
XPERIA X2. How can this be achieved? Well, by Photoshopping a couple of photos and having seen and designed numerous XPERIA concepts…

This is Oli’s first live picture, pretty good for his first and we’re waiting for a brand new concept design soon, as the Esato board user claimed he has something up his sleeve.

Seriously now, aren’t you tired of
XPERIA concept phones? Think I’ll take a break from those for a week… It’s not my fault that the Esato guys are so productive and creative these days. The latest XPERIA design comes from pavlov’s_dog and it’s still in the making.

After reading the small print, I discovered that it’s a device with a 540 x 960 QHD touchscreen, custom Symbian S60, an 8 megapixel autofocus camera, 3 versions of internal memory (8/16/32GB) and WiFi 802/1 b/g/n support. There’s also an M2/MicroSD slot on its specs list and a 3.5mm audio jack plus a miniUSB port.

They would be live pics if the phone were real and not only an extremely well done concept designed by tob!s from Esato, although some of the members of that board might disagree. The device is the new definition of glossy and its form factor resembles the iPhone quite a lot, although the
XPERIA X3 is a tad longer.

I couldn’t help noticing that one of the photos of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 concept posted on Esato was named “LG Renoir”… Could any of the photos above and below use Renoir as their Photoshopped “muse”? I’m just guessing here, so don’t throw stones…

XPERIA Sora was yesterday’s hit, created by Razec and published on Esato, but now this concept phone reveals more than meets the eye and earns itself more praise than simply the tag of “mid-end XPERIA”. It comes with the famous panel-based interface, a multimedia/web mode, Windows Mobile 7 and a 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 CPU at its core.

If you thought that XPERIA Sora was all about hot specs, guess again, as the camera on its back is impressive as well. We’re dealing with a 12 megapixels Exmor CMOS sensor that may be more real than we think. Great job Razec, once again!
