Usually music phones show their nature via a couple of multimedia keys or through the Walkman branding, but there are a few handsets out there that resemble MP3 players so much that guessing their features is easy as pie. One of those is the Nokia 7280 and the other is J. Havrlant’s concept phone, the Sony Ericsson W509.

We’re dealing with a handset that comes with 4GB of internal memory, a 3.5 mm jack, a 176 x 220 display, a 2 megapixel camera and a MiniUSB. The W509 also uses extra music navigations keys and connects via EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA. Here’s the phone in glossy black:

Someone from Esato claimed that the next the XPERIA would be an excellent way of making the original handset into a lower end device, accessible for people with less cash and tech know-how. A mid-end XPERIA would surely blow the competition away, but would it canibalize the sales of the original handset?

XPERIA X2 was designed by J. Havrlant, a name you must have surely heard if you’ve seen our best Sony Ericsson concepts.
Notice that the neat touchscreen and interface are still there, WM flavour, but the next version of this XPERIA smartphone might lack the QWERTY keyboard. It’s the designer’s call there…

This concept phone’s main appeal is surely its 7.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and 5x optical zoom, coupled with a Walkman 3.0 player. You’ve got the best music player there is on a multimedia handset that uses a WVGA touch display and a front 0.48 megapixel camera (for 30 fps video recording).

The connectivity is quite standard (EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/Wi-Fi), while the specs list also includes a 256 MB internal memory, M2 and microSD card support (8 GB max) plus a mini USB and 3.5 mm audio jack.
K5i also comes with XP and Vista support and it can be used as your webcam, with probably better quality than your laptop’s incorporated camera. This Sony Ericsson device was designed by J. Havrlant.

The SE K1i concept proves to be one of those rare handsets that keeps the design of its predecessor unaltered, while the specs get slight upgrades. Basically the K1i (designed by J. Havrlant) is a P1i, but with a 5 megapixel camera (compared to the 3 MP of the first handset) and 256 MB RAM (the P1i had 128 MB).

Sony Ericsson K1i also incorporates a VGA touchscreen, EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA support, 8GB of storage (much more than the P1i) and a mini USB port. Last but not least comes the 3.5 mm audio jack, VGA video recording and the Xenon flash of the camera. Do you think this device will pass the concept phase?

Yes, it is a Walkman phone, this W970i, but it looks very much like the ideal MP3 player, that would replace the ever popular iPod. Designed by the same talented J. Havrlant, the W970i comes with UIQ 4 and a pretty large display, but I’m not so sure about the multimedia keys placement beneath the screen…
They might not be very comfortable, but the device is still looking hot.

The Sony Ericsson W3i was designed by J. Havrlant, one of the most prolific SE concept creators, who this time shows us that Walkman phones can have good cameras and hot specs.

This Walkman concept comes with a 480 x 800 touchscreen, 16 GB storage space, 256 MB RAM and a 5 megapixel camera with a Xenon flash. The Sony Ericsson W3i also handles connectivity quite well, offering WiFi, UMTS, HSDPA and EDGE support.
Other than that, we’re dealing with a fancy slider that can rival any iPod/music phone.

The Sony Ericsson T905 concept phone comes with extra solar panels as you can see, but those may be there for bling or for environmentally friendly recharging. Either way, J. Havrlant’s design is neat and the specs are pretty good as well.

T905 comes with a 5 megapixel camera, a VGA display, aGPS and GPS, Wi-Fi b/g and 4GB M2 included.
Was wondering if my phone’s touchscreen was also a solar panel, would it feel really warm when I touched it? Just a thought, nothing to do with the T905…

If you ever thought that the Sony Ericsson W1000 concept was surreal, check out the beauty below, brought to us by J. Havrlant. The W1 handset surprises us all with its specs, specially in the storage and camera department.

It’s rare that we see a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone sporting a 6.1 megapixel camera plus 32GB of internal storage space. Not to mention that VGA touch display, GPS and WVGA video recording. XPERIA say what?

Sony Ericsson Walkman phones are usually defined by their multimedia features, but the W990 concept begs to differ as it features 16GB of internal memory and a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus. Of course that sounds a bit like Nokia N96 and a potential future iPhone, but I’m sure that nobody over at Sony Ericsson’s yet ready to jump on the clone wagon.
Oh, did I mention that W990 also features a holografic “touch” (sensor) display?

The concept was designed by J. Havrlant and it’s far better than the poor design that surfaced on the Internet weeks ago, claiming to be the real handset.
