The REI mobile phone design below belongs to Feng Xun and it’s an excellent example of touchscreen smartphone that resembles the iPhone and still manages to add a bit of extra flavour in the interface department. It’s got a virtual QWERTY keypad that can be used in normal and landscape mode and a pretty user friendly way of taking pics.
What does REI stand for? “Respect. Emotion. Individual”. I would have gone with “Interface” for the last one, but I guess that “individual” is just as good. Watch the concept phone in action below:

Basically, Anwuli Abulokwe wasn’t satisfied with the original iPhone so he designed his own version of an iPod/phone hybrid. The result is not quite the Apple iPhone, but rather a lighter and smaller handset, plus a more affordable one.
The “Say Hello!” device comes with a digital touchscreen, a headphones port, a dock connector port, an E-Z grip stylus and an Internet browser that can display web pages in landscape mode. Looks more like an iPod than a phone if you ask me…

Muhammad-Oli from the Esato Board shows us the future of Sony Ericsson phones through this beautiful K950i Bravia. It features a pretty big touchscreen, landscape mode and that Bravia branding which pretty much describes the handset’s use. It’s a “cinema phone” if you want or a handset that will be loved by folks who like to watch high definition movies on the go.
Of course, there’s the iPhone, the PSP or the Nokia N95 8GB to choose instead, but would trade those for Sony’s famous Bravia branding? Notice the multimedia controls on the phone’s left side, as they show that this Sony Ericsson is designed for landscape viewing of movies and photos.
Keep in mind that K950i Bravia is a slider and it features a decent keypad, so you won’t be relying on that touchscreen alone.

LiveSpeakR is the latest concept portable speaker system that will turn your iPhone into a genuine boombox. It’s been introduced by D&G solutions and it was created by Erik Groset. This device runs on 2 AAA batteries or gets its “juice” with the aid of an AC adapter.
The speakers you see above can rotate and expand/contract as you switch from portrait to landscape mode and back. What’s neat about this system is that the accessories can even fit inside your pocket, taking portable fun to a new level. Don’t be sad about the fact that this is only a concept, since D&G Solutions are looking for a manufacturer to mass-produce LiveSpeakR.
Think we’ll see these speakers hitting the market in time for the summer holiday?
