Let me start by saying “My bad!”, as far as the Sony Ericsson W977 phone is concerned, since it seems it does have a front display, unlike what I was claiming in
this article. It all became clear once Shane A. Bygrave published this great promotional shot of the Walkman concept phone.

Sony Ericsson W977 is a Walkman handset featuring a front video camera, touch sensitive Walkman button, Walkman keys, a camera shutter and front keys below the screen. Moving on to the specs, we learn that the device’s touchscreen is based on OLED technology and the phone comes with WiFi, a 7.2 megapixel camera, an accelerometer, Bluetooth 3.0, dual speakers, DNLA, SEMC OS v5.5, and LAN.

It’s been a while since we last saw a
Sony Ericsson concept phone and Shave A. Bygrave has a new design to show us, the Sony Ericsson W977 Walkman Phone. Featuring OLED technology, the Walkman 4.0 player, a 7.2 megapixel camera and Wi-Fi, this handset looks really nice, but I’d really love to check out its front side as well.
W977’s specs list also includes an accelerometer, Bluetooth 3.0 and DNLA. I wonder if the phone packs a touchscreen or not…

User Dark Magician, from the Esato board has created his very first concept phone and I’m not quite sure that the C900 he designed is a
Sony Ericsson device, but my gut tells me it could be.

However, this phone rather reminds me of a Helio device, or some Ericsson concepts I’ve seen months ago. I wonder if the handset’s display is a touchscreen and if it packs a sliding keypad or not…
What do you say?

Reminding me very much of the P1, this
Sony Ericsson concept phone was created by Esato board user Exilim and it bears the name of Sony Ericsson E600i. We’re dealing with a “superslim” business phone with a big screen (touch maybe?), a compact design and a QWERTY-style keyboard (half QWERTY?). What do you make of it?

When
Razec from Esato designs a Sony Ericsson concept phone, you know you’re in for a treat… This is also the case of XPERIA X10, a very neat smartphone concept, bearing the codename of Eureka. This is a curved side sliding device, with dual front design, metallic finish and brushed metal finish.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 supports quadband HSUPA, GSM, UMTS, EDGE connectivity, but there’s also WiMAX on board, WLAN, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and DLNA technology. The handset’s display is a 640 x 320 color TFT, a resistive touchscreen with support for handwriting recognition and full finger navigation.
X10’s specs list also includes a full QWERTY keyboard, stereo speakers, a 600 MHz TI OMAP 3430 CPU, 192MB RAM, 256MB Flash memory, 16GB of internal memory and the famous Symbian OS. Opera 9.7 handles the web browsing, while the UIQ UI Theme handles the interactions.

What would a hot and new XPERIA handset be without a very cool camera? Enter the 8.1 megapixel sensor featured on the Eureka/X10, coming with autofocus, LED flash, Sony G-Lens, stereo sound video (WVGA 30 fps), 20x digital zoom and a mineral glass lens cover.
The phone’s battery is a Lithium Polymer 1500 mAh unit and mobile gamers out there were not forgotten, as Razec’s concept also comes with a dual mode QWERTY keyboard, doubling as gaming keys.

Widescreen aspect ratio will make gaming on the X10 a pleasure and there’s even a neat accessory for the phone, also in the conceptual stage: the IDC 900 electronic hard case, you can check out below. The case incorporates a a 176 x 36 OLED display, a digital clock and an internal fast port.
I have to say that Razec did a great job with this concept and I’m really curious to see his next device, a QWERTY Symbian phone with a panel/widgets UI on board.

WhiteEye from Esato hast just shown the world his superb
Sony Ericsson Clementine concept, a clamshell that features an innovative format, based on “folders”, that allow the display to rotate easily. This device is also known as 3FOLDERSTYLE and it’s a mid-end handset with BRAVIA technology on board and support for DVB-H TV.

Clementine works on GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 850/1900/2100 (up to 7.2 Mbps) networks and it packs a 2.8 inches 240 x 400 TFT display with BRAVIA RealityMAX engine.
There’s also a 1.5 inch 108 x 128 organic EL subdisplay on board (with reflective surface), plus a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with photo flash, face detection and smile shutter.

This new Sony Ericsson concept incorporates an internal antenna, for DVB-H TV reception and touch-sensitive keys for music playback and TV broadcast. The phone’s specs list also includes a Memory Stick Micro slot, a neat speaker and AccuWeather support.
See how the rotating display works and check out the high quality TV features on the handset below.

The following posters are promotional images for Sony Ericsson Clementine, the first is its English version, followed by the Chinese and Indonesian one. Great job WhiteEye!

Fancy a mid end
Sony Ericsson handset, with specs that place it a tad closer to the high-end segment? Esato board user echo.shane designed such a device, the Sony Ericsson W9a concept, that you can check out below. It comes with GPS, WiFi, EDGE and UMTS support.

There’s a neat touchscreen at the front and a great 5 megapixel camera at the back, with touch focus, red eye reduction, night mode, xenon flash and video light.
A Walkman player also made the cut and a truly impressive feature is the phone’s task manager, that allows the user to access the most recent opened and closed apps, plus get info on the system (IMEI, uptime, RAM etc).

Esato’s back with a tob!s design, the
Sony Ericsson CS8 concept phone, featuring Android, a T-Mobile logo and a pretty basic design. Those look like touch-sensitive keys near the nav pad and you can spot a front camera incorporated in the device’s upper side, so there’s also 3G and videoconference support on board.

Since the K series is a gonner, feast your eyes on this
Sony Ericsson K580 concept phone, created by Esato user lavender389. That’s quite a strange place to mark the handset’s brand, but overall the design is quite elegant, although I don’t quite get why the keyboard segment goes lower than the device’s edge.
Also, what’s the deal with those keys? What does the “1″ key do?

I’m not quite sure when this concept phone was designed by god1_jason, but he did a terrific job with
Sony Ericsson W999i, an impressive device even in 2009, maybe with a bit more memory and better specs.

W999i features 8GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi b/g, an 18 million colors screen, Bluetooth A2DP and a sliding mechanism that changes the device’s profile (up for multimedia, down for business). I wonder if the display is a touchscreen… it surely looks like one.
