British designer Jamie Lawrence created a simplistic concept phone dubbed Pebble, that gets pictured below and detailed after the break. What’s interesting is that this a very basic handset, lacking multimedia features, but still packing a touchscreen display.

The Pebble phone includes two sliding parts that cover the touchscreen, with the two parts including the numeric keys and the rest of the buttons. The device comes with a reduced size and weight, plus a curvy shape, for an easier carrying and use.
We also notice that this phone is very glossy and its keys seem touch-based.

We have shown you superb concept phones created by
David Turpin previously, most of them relying on Windows Mobile and some even on the full versions of Microsoft’s OS. Now, it’s time to check out the following images showing the latest designs created by David for Velocity Mobile.

We notice the designer’s passion for full touchscreens, sleek looks and virtual QWERTY keyboards, that are certainly the future of the mobile industry. Can’t really tell if these are Windows Mobile smartphones or not, but their interface surely looks like something that HTC would like to create.
No specs for these concepts, but we’ll leave the imagination to bundle them all into a list.

[Thanks David]

Esato board user
echo.shane designed a brand new Sony Ericsson concept phone, the S719, which is some sort of mid-end cameraphone, packing a 5 megapixel sensor. You can admire it in various colors below, some of the really suited to this time of the year (lime green, strom blue or harmony pink).

Sony Ericsson S719 packs a touchscreen display (I estimate 2.5 – 3 inches) and a numeric keypad. Add an interesting interface to it, a decent media player and internal memory, so you’ll get a pretty hot gift for your favorite lady.

There’s a new designer in town, known as Toro and he posted his/her creation on Flickr, under the name of tPhone or Toro Phone, a pretty interesting concept phone, using a modified Apple logo.
Usually, we see such designs on Esato, bearing the Sony Ericsson branding, as a part of the Cybershot series, but bringing a touchscreen in the mix…

Notice the placement of the call/end call buttons beneath the touch display, very close to the edge of the device and the presence of the videocall front camera. The rest of the specs are a mystery, but a decent memory should be there, plus an accelerometer and video codecs.

Sophia Voychehovski has a thing or two to say about mobile communication, as she based her senior thesis on this subject and there’s even a neat device we spotted in her personal portofolio. Her
concept handset is a handsfree phone by excellence and a touchscreen one, like most modern portable devices.
Notice the intuitive interface and the simple layout of the keypad, indicating that the device would be appealing for tweens and kids.

Petitinvention once again introduces a superb concept phone and, as far as I know, the creative genius behind this is an Apple fan, so my lucky guess (based on the device’s look) is that we might be dealing with a so-called Mac Phone. The designer of the device compares it to Nokia Aeon, but I think this is better and more original.

Notice the fancy keyboard (QWERTY and numeric), the brilliant touchscreen and the “Mac white” displayed by the device? Practically, the handset has no borders, so we’re talking full touchscreen, in an original way. If you ask me about the OS of this concept, I might say Android, but I don’t think that Google’s software is worthy enough to be emulated on this beauty…

Dual SIM phones are all the rage now and even handsets that can hold 3 SIM cards have turned up, but 4 sims is something extremely rare, if not a never tried before idea. Inspired by fire, the Magma phone was designed by Amit Vagyani and it features a keypad and touchscreen display.

Among its specs there’s up to 40GB extendable memory support, a 5 megapixel camera with 8x optical zoom, Bluetooth, infrared, Wi-Fi, twin CDMA and GSM. Its battery lasts 12 hours in active talk mode and this Magma handset measures 100 x 49 x 16 mm, weighing 60 grams. Who’s going to make a 5 SIM device?

Among a variety of concept phones with touchscreens there are also a few devices with wrap around screens, that usually make a lasting impression on us. Eric Strebel’s latest work can be seen below, a smartphone with a huge touchscreen and a pretty hot interface.

We’re dealing with a handset that comes with an e-ink screen that can also display information on the side of the device. More than that, the phone also includes a sliding keyboard, aside from the touchscreen plus indents that make the handset easy to pick up.
