Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 5 has surfaced in a fresh set of leaked renders, offering the clearest look yet at the company’s next smartwatch. Shared by OnLeaks in collaboration with The Tide Chart, the images suggest Google is sticking with the familiar Pixel Watch design while introducing new color options and launching the wearable alongside the Pixel 11 series on August 12.
At first glance, the Pixel Watch 5 looks almost identical to its predecessor. The signature circular display with domed glass remains, as do the side charging contacts and Google’s proprietary watch band attachment system. While some may have expected a redesign, Google appears to be refining rather than reinventing its smartwatch lineup.
The unchanged band mechanism is good news for existing Pixel Watch owners, as bands from the Pixel Watch 4 are expected to remain compatible with the new model.
The Pixel Watch 5 will reportedly be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, with both offering Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants.
Color options will differ depending on the case size. The 41mm model is expected in Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, Pyrite, and Warm Gold, while the larger 45mm version drops the Warm Gold finish, leaving buyers with three color choices.
Previous reports suggest Google has also made some internal improvements. The Pixel Watch 5 is rumored to feature slightly larger batteries, potentially addressing one of the biggest criticisms of previous Pixel Watch generations: battery life. If the reported capacity increase translates into more than 30 hours of runtime, it would be a meaningful improvement over the roughly one-day endurance of the Pixel Watch 4.
On the software side, the smartwatch is expected to ship with Wear OS 7, bringing Google’s latest wearable features announced at Google I/O. As Google’s flagship smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 5 will likely be the first device to showcase the newest version of the operating system.
Pricing is also expected to increase. According to current rumors, the Pixel Watch 5 could start at around $399 for the smaller model, with the larger version reaching approximately $449, roughly $50 more than the Pixel Watch 4 at launch.
Google is expected to officially unveil the Pixel Watch 5, alongside the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and other Made by Google hardware, during its August 12 launch event. Full specifications, pricing, and availability should be confirmed at that time.
