A new HMD smartphone has leaked online ahead of its official debut. Called the HMD Grand, the upcoming device appears to target the affordable segment with a large 90 Hz display, Snapdragon chipset, dual cameras and a massive 6000 mAh battery.
New renders and specifications of the upcoming HMD Grand have surfaced online, revealing what could become one of HMD’s next budget-focused smartphones. The device features a familiar flat-edge design, a dual-camera setup and hardware aimed at users looking for battery life and a large display rather than flagship-level performance.
According to the leak, the HMD Grand will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 processor and will feature a 6.9-inch LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The bezels appear fairly thick, especially the bottom chin, confirming its positioning in the lower midrange or entry-level category.
The leaked renders show the phone in Flora Blue and Titanium color variants. On the back, the device includes a rectangular camera module housing a 50 MP main sensor alongside a secondary 8 MP ultrawide camera. One of the more surprising specs is the front-facing camera, which is also rumored to use a 50 MP sensor for selfies and video calls.
Battery life could become one of the HMD Grand’s biggest selling points. The leak mentions a large 6000 mAh battery paired with 33W fast charging support. Other expected features include stereo speakers, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, dual microphones and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature that continues to disappear from many modern smartphones.
On the software side, the HMD Grand is expected to ship with Android 16 out of the box. HMD will reportedly offer 2 years of Android OS updates and 3 years of security patches. Storage configurations could include 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and an 8 GB RAM + 256 GB version.
