Huawei’s next Ultra flagship is starting to take shape, and the latest concept image for the Pura 90 Ultra suggests the company is ready to shake up its rear-camera identity. Instead of sticking to the oversized triangular bump that dominated past models, this new design flips the script with a wide horizontal bar stretching from edge to edge. It’s the most radical look the Pura series has flirted with so far—and one that feels very 2026.

Shared by the well-known Weibo leaker SuperDimensional, the sketch keeps the iconic triangular lens arrangement intact, but shifts it to the left side of a full-width camera island. Three big rings stay grouped together, while the flash, a smaller auxiliary sensor, and the XMAGE branding move to the right. The whole structure feels longer, slimmer, and more “Nova-style” than the Ultra’s usual bombastic camera hump. Huawei’s logo sits at the bottom-left of the back panel, while the power and volume keys remain on the right frame. The chassis itself appears sleek, with softly curved corners and ultra-thin edges.

There’s no front view in the concept, so the biggest open question remains whether Huawei will try 3D face recognition again for the Pura 90 generation or keep things minimal. With no punch-hole or sensor housing shown yet, the front design is still entirely speculative. As always, a concept is just that—not confirmation—but the move toward a horizontal layout would align Huawei with current industry trends while still preserving the Pura identity through the triangular arrangement.

Camera rumors remain the hottest talking point around this device. Multiple leaks point to a 200 MP periscope telephoto (allegedly SmartSens SCC80XS on 22nm), backed by a 50 MP 1-inch main sensor with a variable aperture system similar to previous Huawei flagships. Under the hood, expectations hover around the Kirin 9030 / 9030 Pro platform and HarmonyOS 6.1, possibly with new biometric hardware. Battery leaks are even wilder, with claims of 6,500–7,000 mAh packs and 100W wired plus 50W wireless charging. While none of these specs are locked in, the Pura 90 Ultra is shaping up to be one of Huawei’s boldest imaging-first flagships.

Release timing? Most chatter points to a China launch in May 2026, followed by a gradual international rollout. Until Huawei reveals something official, today’s concept gives us the clearest look yet at how the company might push its design language forward—horizontal, wide, and still unmistakably Pura.
