Motorola isn’t wasting any time. Hot on the heels of last week’s Moto Edge 60 reveal, we’re already getting our first look at its follow-up — the Moto Edge 70. Yes, it’s that early.
From what we can see in the render, the Edge 70 keeps the familiar curved-edge display, though interestingly, it’s not the quad-curved panel that’s becoming a trend across flagships. Around the back, Motorola is sticking with the vegan leather finish and — more importantly — a triple camera setup. And we’re talking real cameras this time, not filler sensors like those on the Moto G and Moto G Power devices leaked earlier today.
Exact camera specs are still under wraps, but if the Edge 60 is anything to go by, we’re likely looking at a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP 3x telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide. Here’s hoping the telephoto gets a meaningful upgrade.
Performance-wise, the Edge series sits just below Motorola’s top-tier Edge Pro line. For the Edge 70, that probably means sticking with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7000 series, maybe stepping up to the Dimensity 7400. A bump in RAM — potentially standardizing 12GB across all variants — also seems likely, especially with Motorola pushing more AI-powered features in its recent launches.
So, when does the Moto Edge 70 drop?
No official date yet, but Motorola has a habit of hiding clues in its renders — like how the Edge 60 had an April 23 date on-screen, even though it launched on the 24th. Based on that logic, the Edge 70 could be aiming for a September 24 debut. That’s a Wednesday, and a prime launch window.
If Motorola does pull the trigger in September, they’ll be going head-to-head with the iPhone 17 series. That’s bold. But launching just five months after the Edge 60? That’s also aggressive. Still, with the pace Motorola’s moving at, it wouldn’t be surprising.
