Motorola Rival for iPhone Air? The Motorola Edge 70 Leak Heads Into Ultra-Thin Territory

It seems Motorola is also ready to compete in the ultra-thin smartphone market with its new model, the Motorola Edge 70. The phone just leaked in a render revealed by leaker Evan Blass. Let’s break it down.

First of all, the phone looks extremely slim even from the leaked image on X. Then we notice the Pantone logo on the back, which confirms this green shade is an official Pantone color. The square-shaped camera bump is still present, along with a dedicated cutout for the flash in the top-right corner—just like the Moto Edge 60. The frame appears metallic, and the back is covered in faux leather, as usual for the series.

I also notice an extra button on the left side, most likely for Moto AI. The display is clearly flat this time, since curved edges are not trendy anymore. While the Edge 60 measured 7.9 mm, here I expect Motorola to go down to 6.9 mm or even thinner. The promo poster also emphasizes durability, so I’d expect IP68, IP69, and even military-grade MIL-STD-810H certification.

Spec-wise, predictions include a 50 MP rear camera with OIS, a P-OLED display of at least 6.67 inches, and a midrange MediaTek Dimensity processor. Battery life will be interesting to watch—will Motorola drop below 5000 mAh or even 4000 mAh?

Motorola Edge 70 wants to beat Apple at its own game—thinner design, official Pantone aesthetics, and rugged certifications that Apple’s iPhone Air lacks.
