Motorola’s next high-end smartphone may be closer than expected. A new leak has revealed fresh renders of what appears to be the Motorola Signature, also expected to launch as the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra, alongside key design details and a likely debut timeframe.

The device carries the internal codename “Urus,” according to earlier leaks, and could mark a subtle but meaningful rebranding for Motorola. Rather than sitting squarely in the Edge lineup, the phone is rumored to inaugurate a new premium tier called Motorola Signature, positioned just shy of full flagship status.

The images, shared by prolific leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks), show the phone in two finishes: Carbon and Martini Olive. Both colorways feature a textured rear panel that looks distinct from previous Motorola designs, moving away from the familiar vegan leather aesthetic. The camera module also appears reworked, signaling a clear visual departure from the Edge 50 Ultra launched in 2024. Notably, Motorola skipped an Edge 60 Ultra entirely, making this design shift feel more deliberate.

Up front, the phone sports a 6.7-inch curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and extremely slim bezels, reinforcing its premium ambitions. The curved edges echo Motorola’s recent design language, but the thinner frame suggests refinements aimed at competing more directly with Samsung and Xiaomi in the upper tier.

Photography looks to be a major focus. The Signature / Edge 70 Ultra is expected to feature a triple rear camera system, headlined by a Sony Lytia primary sensor, paired with an ultrawide camera and a periscope telephoto lens. On the front, Motorola is reportedly including a 50-megapixel selfie camera, continuing the brand’s recent push toward higher-resolution front-facing sensors.

Internally, however, Motorola appears to be making a calculated compromise. Instead of Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the phone is said to run on the slightly more modest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, combined with up to 16GB of RAM. That choice suggests Motorola is aiming for strong performance without fully entering ultra-flagship pricing territory.
