A new startup called Enough Phone is preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign for a handset that aims to fill the gap left by Apple’s iPhone 13 mini, one of the last mainstream phones to offer flagship ambitions in a pocket-friendly form factor.
While today’s “compact” smartphones typically feature displays around 6.3 inches, Enough Phone plans to go much smaller. The company says its device will feature a 5.2-inch display, making it significantly easier to use with one hand than most modern smartphones. The project is expected to launch on Kickstarter in the near future, although an exact date has yet to be announced.
So far, the startup has revealed very little about the phone itself. A teaser illustration shows a handset with a single rear camera, a flat metal frame, and a screw-secured back panel, hinting at a design that could prioritize durability or repairability. Beyond that, the company has kept the hardware specifications under wraps.
Enough Phone describes the device as a small premium smartphone at an affordable price, suggesting it will likely target the upper mid-range segment rather than compete directly with flagship devices. Unlike the aging iPhone 13 mini, the startup promises a stronger focus on battery life and camera quality, two areas where many compact phones have historically made compromises.
The company also claims the handset will use premium components and give buyers a choice between a standard Android experience and a minimalist interface designed to reduce distractions. This could appeal to users looking for a simpler smartphone experience without sacrificing modern hardware.
Whether Enough Phone can turn its ambitious concept into a commercial success remains to be seen.
