Samsung appears ready to expand its wireless earbuds lineup beyond conventional in-ear models. A new set of leaked marketing renders offers the clearest look yet at the Galaxy Buds On, previously known internally as “Galaxy Buds Able,” and reveals an earring-like open-ear design built around two separate modules connected by a flexible bridge.
Instead of using silicone tips to seal the ear canal, the Galaxy Buds On place the main acoustic section inside the concha, while a second outer module clips around the ear to keep the earbud secure. Audio is delivered through air conduction, meaning users should remain more aware of their surroundings than with traditional Galaxy Buds models. The design puts Samsung closer to the growing clip-on earbud segment, prioritizing comfort and all-day wear over maximum passive isolation.

Samsung is also reportedly preparing several software features specifically for this format. Head gestures could let users answer or reject calls by nodding or shaking their head, while Auto Volume would automatically increase or reduce playback depending on ambient noise. Other expected features include Bixby and Google Gemini integration, voice memo recording with automatic transcription through One UI, and sleep detection capable of pausing playback when the user falls asleep.

The Galaxy Buds On would represent a notable design departure for Samsung, looking more like a piece of wearable jewelry than a traditional pair of earbuds. The split construction also avoids the large stems and bulky ear hooks commonly found on open-ear alternatives, giving the Buds On a relatively discreet profile despite the unconventional shape.
Samsung is reportedly developing another pair of earbuds called Galaxy T1, aimed more directly at sports and fitness users through a conventional ear-hook design. Neither model has been officially announced yet, but the appearance of polished marketing materials suggests both could launch before the end of 2026.
