Samsung is getting closer to entering the smart glasses market, and a new leak offers the best look yet at what could become the company’s first XR wearable. Tentatively referred to as Galaxy Glasses, the device is expected to debut before the end of 2026, with fresh renders highlighting its design, controls, and AI-focused features.
The leaked model features a modern rounded-square frame that looks surprisingly close to a regular pair of glasses. A camera is integrated into the left side of the frame, while an LED indicator sits on the right to signal when recording or other camera-related functions are active. Physical controls include a power button on the top of the right temple and a volume rocker positioned further toward the rear.
Samsung also appears to be adding touch controls. The right temple includes a touch-sensitive surface that supports both single-finger and two-finger swipe gestures, allowing users to navigate the interface without relying solely on voice commands. This should make interacting with the glasses more intuitive while on the move.
On the software side, the wearable is expected to run One UI XR, Samsung’s interface built on Google’s Android XR platform. Artificial intelligence plays a central role, with Gemini serving as the primary assistant. Thanks to the integrated camera, Gemini will reportedly be able to analyze the user’s surroundings, answer questions about objects in view, and provide contextual information in real time. The glasses are also expected to support the latest version of Gemini Live, demonstrated by Google during the I/O 2026 developer conference.
Unlike some augmented reality headsets, the Galaxy Glasses are not rumored to include a built-in display. Instead, Samsung appears to be focusing on an AI-first wearable equipped with microphones and speakers for voice interaction. Previous reports have also suggested that the glasses can be controlled using the Galaxy Ring and potentially the Galaxy Watch, creating a broader Samsung wearable ecosystem.
If the leaks prove accurate, Samsung’s first smart glasses could offer an alternative approach to AI wearables by prioritizing hands-free assistance and contextual intelligence over traditional augmented reality displays. With an official unveiling expected later this year, it may not be long before we learn the full specifications and pricing of the Galaxy Glasses.
