Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ appear in fresh new renders – and the base model is incredibly light

Just as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra made headlines with its most detailed renders yet, new images of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ have surfaced courtesy of AndroidHeadlines, revealing familiar shapes with one notable change: a unified rear camera module shaped like a pill, similar to what we’ve seen on Samsung’s foldables.

The biggest surprise is the drastic weight drop of the vanilla model. For reference, the Apple iPhone 17 weighs 177 grams, while the S26 is set to come in at just 137 grams, making it one of the lightest compact flagships on the market.

A compact flagship gets even lighter

Samsung’s previous model, the Galaxy S25, measured 146.9 × 70.5 × 7.2 mm and weighed 162 g. The Galaxy S26 grows slightly to accommodate a larger 6.3-inch display (up from 6.2″), now coming in at 149.6 × 71.7 × 7.2 mm, yet somehow sheds 25 grams. For anyone wanting a compact, featherweight Android flagship, this will likely become the number-one pick.

The Galaxy S26+ keeps the same 6.7-inch display size and nearly identical dimensions to its predecessor, including weight. Both phones are expected with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in many regions, while others may receive the Exynos 2600 variant.

Base storage finally jumps to 256 GB, a long-requested upgrade (though one that might raise the base price).

Qi2, UWB and satellite features across the lineup

Both models are set to adopt magnetic Qi2 wireless charging, UWB support, and satellite communication. The vanilla S26 is the bigger winner here since it has lacked UWB for years — great news for anyone using tracking tags or Samsung’s smart ecosystem.

Battery upgrades are modest but welcome:

Charging speeds may also improve. The S26 could move to 45W, matching the Plus model, while the S26 Ultra is rumored to jump to 60W.

Colors and launch

Only the black model appears in these renders, but both the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will reportedly launch in white, violet and blue as well.

Samsung hasn’t sent out press invites yet, but Unpacked 2026 leaked earlier today, pointing strongly to a February 25 launch — with the usual trio: Vanilla, Plus and Ultra.

Expect more leaks in the coming days as Samsung’s next flagships approach their debut.
