Samsung is once again reshaping its design language, and the leaked CAD renders of the Galaxy S26 Edge show just how far it’s willing to go. After physical mockups surfaced last week, these new images from the ever-reliable OnLeaks confirm the company’s sharp pivot toward a flatter, more minimal aesthetic — one that instantly invites comparisons with Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro.
The renders reveal a phone that abandons the classic “Edge” philosophy almost entirely. Gone are the subtle curves that once defined Samsung’s identity; instead, the S26 Edge embraces flat edges, a flat back, and a flat 6.7-inch display with razor-thin bezels. At just 5.5 mm, the chassis is impressively slim, though the dual-camera bump pushes the overall thickness to 10.8 mm. It’s a compromise we’ve come to expect in the era of oversized sensors.
It’s that rear camera design, however, that really fuels the Apple déjà vu. Instead of Samsung’s usual separated floating lenses, the S26 Edge now features a glossy rectangular island tucked neatly into the corner, housing two large cameras and an LED flash. It’s a minimalist, assertive look — but also one that echoes Cupertino’s visual language. Under the hood, the formula stays focused: a 200 MP main sensor paired with a 50 MP ultrawide, a significant upgrade over the 12 MP ultrawide found in the S25 Edge.
Despite its ultra-thin profile, the phone squeezes in a larger 4200 mAh battery and introduces Qi2 wireless charging with magnets, a first for the Galaxy line. This addition doesn’t just improve charging efficiency; it also signals Samsung’s intent to challenge Apple’s MagSafe ecosystem head-on. One leaked mockup in a pinkish purple even shows a subtle circle on the back, further hinting at magnetic accessory alignment.
Inside, the S26 Edge is rumored to pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, paired with either 12 or 16 GB of RAM — specs that firmly cement it as a flagship. Interestingly, this model is said to replace the “Plus” in Samsung’s lineup, sitting alongside the upcoming S26 Pro and S26 Ultra in early 2026.
