Chalk this one under “news” and a very original handset accessory! It appears that Samsung has decided to take advantage of the large screen estate of the upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to also debut a special keyboard cover accessory. The info comes from @evleaks and we analyze it below.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus QWERTY keyboard

The idea goes like this: you are going to attach a special portion of plastic/metal onto the lower third of the screen, much like you did with the LG AKA. This time the portion is smaller and also features a QWERTY keyboard, as well as physical representations of the virtual Android buttons. Now that sounds very cool and all, but I’d love to see the mechanism behind this cover.

I’d love to see how it’s powered, if it scratches the screen or not and how bulky it makes the handset. This can open up an entire segment of accessories for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, all sorts of sleeves, some focused on gaming and some maybe on picture taking? We’ll learn more on August 13th…
