Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Leak Reveals a Bigger, More Immersive Cover Screen — And a Whole New Look

Samsung’s next clamshell foldable is taking a bold design leap. A new leak from OnLeaks suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 will ditch the familiar “folder tab” aesthetic of its predecessor’s cover screen in favor of something far more immersive — and far more Motorola.

According to the renders and specs leaked today, Samsung is ready to upsize the external display to a full 4 inches, matching the footprint of the top-tier Motorola Razr+. But it’s not just about going bigger — it’s about smarter design. The bezels are slimmer, the aspect ratio is more usable, and the two main cameras are now cut directly into the cover screen itself, creating a sleeker, more unified look. This marks a departure from the quirky rectangle of the Z Flip 5, which looked more like a Windows folder than a modern smartphone.

Under the hood, the Flip 7 seems to retain much of what worked with its predecessor. That includes the 50MP main camera and 12MP ultra-wide, mirroring the setup on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. What’s unclear for now is the chipset powering the device — some reports point to the Exynos 2500, others to a Snapdragon refresh, and there’s even been speculative chatter around a possible MediaTek option, though that feels less likely given Samsung’s flagship priorities.

RAM and storage will reportedly top out at 12GB and 512GB, respectively, and Samsung is said to be maintaining last year’s launch price, despite the screen and design improvements. Oh — and here’s a big one: the crease is getting thinner. According to the leak, Samsung has made subtle refinements to the hinge and display layer, resulting in a fold that’s less visible and more tactilely satisfying.

Of course, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will ship with One UI 8 on board, bringing with it Samsung’s latest optimizations for foldables — and possibly more native use cases for that expanded external screen.

So, is this the year the Flip series finally finds its perfect form? If these leaks hold true, the Z Flip 7 isn’t just evolving — it’s finally maturing.
