Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide seems to be the “one more thing” moment for Samsung’s summer 2026 event. The device has surfaced in high-quality CAD-based renders, offering the clearest look so far at a new direction for the company’s book-style foldables.

Unlike the standard Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, this “Wide” variant appears to prioritize a broader form factor over height, bringing it closer in spirit to devices like the original Pixel Fold. Visually, it resembles a shortened flagship slab phone when closed, with a more compact, wider footprint that could significantly change one-handed usability.

The leaked renders, attributed to @OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headlines, suggest a simplified rear design featuring a dual-camera setup instead of the triple camera array typically found on premium Fold models. This choice results in a noticeably large camera bump relative to the rest of the chassis, which may also impact how stable the phone sits on flat surfaces.

As with most CAD leaks, some details may not be final. Elements like bezel thickness, port placement, or SIM tray positioning are often missing or approximated at this stage. Still, the overall industrial design and proportions tend to be reliable indicators of what’s coming.

On the hardware side, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to share much of its core DNA with the standard Fold 8. That includes a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and storage configurations reaching 1TB. Battery capacity is rumored around 5,000mAh, with support for 45W charging.

Display sizes, however, tell a different story. The device is tipped to feature a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display. While these numbers are slightly smaller than the regular Fold 8, the wider aspect ratio means the actual usability could feel very different, especially for apps optimized for tablet-like layouts.

Dimension-wise, the device measures approximately 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.9 mm when unfolded, slimming down to about 4.3 mm without counting protrusions. Folded, it reaches 9.8 mm thickness, though the camera bump reportedly pushes that to 14.6 mm in its thickest point — a notable trade-off for a dual-camera system.

Pricing is expected to land in familiar territory. Early estimates suggest a price around $2,000, aligning closely with Samsung’s existing Fold lineup and potentially positioning the device directly against Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone.
