Xiaomi is preparing to expand its affordable smartphone portfolio with the upcoming Redmi 17 4G, and a new leak has now revealed almost everything about the device. Fresh renders shared by YTECHB showcase the handset’s updated design, color options and key hardware specifications ahead of its official announcement.
The leaked renders show a redesigned rear camera module that is noticeably larger than the one found on the Redmi 15 4G. Xiaomi has also replaced one of the decorative camera circles with a new light ring, while retaining a dual-camera setup. The phone is expected to arrive in Black, Deep Blue, Lotus Purple and Oak Green color options.
According to the leak, the Redmi 17 4G measures 170.12 × 78.42 × 8.8 mm and weighs 232 grams, making it a fairly substantial device, largely due to its enormous battery.
On the front, the smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch LCD display with HD+ (1600 × 720) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device will reportedly be the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra processor, paired with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Xiaomi is expected to offer the phone in 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. For photography, the Redmi 17 4G is said to include a 50MP main rear camera accompanied by an auxiliary sensor, while selfies will be handled by an 8MP front-facing camera.

The biggest highlight of the device could be its battery. The leak claims the Redmi 17 4G will pack a massive 7,500mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging, representing a notable upgrade over its predecessor’s 7,000mAh cell and 33W charging support. If accurate, the phone should easily deliver multiple days of battery life for most users.
Additional features mentioned in the leak include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity, and support for the latest version of Xiaomi’s software.
As for pricing, the Redmi 17 4G is expected to start at €250 for the 4GB + 128GB model, while the 6GB + 256GB version could retail for around €280. Pricing may vary depending on the market, but Xiaomi appears to be positioning the handset as an attractive option in the budget segment for users who prioritize battery life and everyday performance.
