I’ve been reading surprisingly few things about the Xiaomi Mi 6 since it was launched. Few reviews, few bad news, few good news and no trace of sale numbers. It’s as if it’s gone underground… Maybe the Xiaomi Mi 7 will make a bigger splash and judging by the concept below, it may just go the Xiaomi Mi MIX way.

Techconfigurations has rendered this device, with an 18:9 screen that has a crazy 97% screen to body ratio, beating even the Mi MIX. The facade is basically all screen and the front camera is actually embedded in the top part of the panel, not above it. Judging by the lack of a Home button and back cutout for a fingerprint scanner, that mechanism is now integrated within the screen panel.

The back side of the Xiaomi Mi 7 is covered with plastic and shows a dual camera at the top side. The design here is inspired by Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone, as the front camera shows, while the back panel draws Mi 6 inspiration. This device has a 5.7 inch Quad HD AMOLED screen and uses a ceramic acoustics system, plus ultrasonic proximity sensors. 8 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 845 CPU also made the cut.

Water and dust resilience have finally been added.
