Xiaomi PocoPhone F1 was one of the sleeper hits this year, offering a Snapdragon 845 powerful experience for around $300 in India. Everybody is wondering how the Xiaomi PocoPhone F2 will be next year and there’s already a bit of an answer. It comes from designer Hasan Kaymak.
The designer has created some superb HTC phones over the years and now he’s back with a Xiaomi. Someone must’ve seen the movie Bumblebee recently, since I’m getting some Camaro/Corvette/ Muscle car vibes here. That stripe down the middle feels like the Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design or maybe a racing car of sorts. The device graduates to a new Snapdragon 855 CPU, a glass back and a large array of cameras.
There’s 4 of them at the back, with a vertical alignment. Upfront we find a display with very narrow bezels. Available in black, white and yellow, the handset also sports that new fangled “hole in the screen” for the selfie camera, in pure Samsung Infinity-O style. The back camera is supposed to include a 48 megapixel sensor and the front camera is a 24 megapixel shooter.
Xiaomi PocoPhone F2, the one shown here has a back cover made of plastic apparently, but the middle panel for the camera area is made of glass. Another impressive piece of hardware is the 5000 mAh battery, borrowed from the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. One of the main problems of the predecessor was the plastic back, plus the lack of a quality screen and inability to properly play Netflix. The PocoPhone F2 should solve everything and also throw in some extra optical abilities.
