Now that’s more like it! After a few concepts and leaks that played it rather safe, today we have a risk taker. YouTube channel Mechanical Pixel has come up with the iPhone 17 Mini, which is truly small, at 4 inches in diagonal.
It’s inspired by the iPhone 5s, but for me it’s also inspired by the older Nokia Lumias, looking soooo rounded, like a small mouse of sorts. It’s got a 16:9 screen ratio, rather beefy bezels and a rounded unibody design. It’s supposed to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand. Apple ditched the Minis a few years ago, but I know people who still miss them. Or buy the old ones…
The device has a 720p resolution, it comes with a 12 megapixel singular camera, a Fusion Camera much like the iPhone 16e. It also has a familiar button at the top, a physical button, that also has Touch ID. It’s very handy to press and use, placed ergonomically. The screen is supposed to go edge to edge, but I wonder if they also count the big black bezel or not.
It’s simply, for sure, grippy most likely and meant for people with tiny hands.
