Leaker Sonny Dickinson recently shared a new set of CAD sketches on X that supposedly show Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone. The device has been widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, though some rumors suggest Apple could eventually market it as iPhone Ultra when it launches.

The sketches reveal a foldable phone with a rather unusual format compared to what we’ve seen so far from the market. The outer display appears relatively compact but noticeably wider than most current foldables. When unfolded, the device adopts a nearly landscape-oriented layout, something that sets it apart from the vertical foldables currently dominating the category.

To visualize how such a device might actually look in real life, the guys at Connect.ro used Gemini Pro with Nano Banana 2 to generate realistic renders based directly on the CAD drawings. This feels closer to a Huawei Pura X rather than a Galaxy Z Fold or Flip.

The process started with a photorealistic interpretation of the original sketch. We specified materials that Apple would likely use, including anodized aluminum for the frame and camera housing, along with matte glass on the back around the wireless charging area. The first render was created in a classic silver finish, matching Apple’s typical product palette.

They experimented with color variations inspired by the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, specifically Deep Blue and Cosmic Orange. The results look exactly like what you would expect from an Apple device in 2026, following the company’s established design language and material choices.

Whether Apple’s foldable will end up looking exactly like this remains to be seen. More precise renders will likely appear once 3D modelers start working with more detailed measurements. For now, however, these images offer a fairly good idea of what the iPhone Fold / Ultra could look like when Apple finally enters the foldable smartphone market.
