Xiaomi 12 Ultra has been leaked and detailed by us a bunch of times so far, but now is the time to check out the Xiaomi 12. It has just been leaked by @OnLeaks and Zoutons in detailed renders and its diagonal shocks me: just 6.2 inches. Coming from a Xiaomi Mi 11 with a 6.8 inch diagonal that’s quite the change.
The selfie camera remains in a punch hole in the screen, no under display came here, since it’s reserved for the Xiaomi Mix 4. The back camera module looks a lot like the Redmi Note 10 Pro one and it’s said to have a special texture and color. The screen is very curved on the sides, just like the Xiaomi Mi 11 before it. The back camera feels rather modest after the Yin-Yang of the Mi 11. There’s a 50 MP main camera at the back, a new sensor, plus probably an 8 MP or 13 MP ultrawide back camera and 2 MP Bokeh or Macro shooter.
Xiaomi 12 was certified already with 67W charging and there’s a 4500 mAh battery inside. Zoutons also hints at a 5000 mAh battery with 100 W charging, but that may end up on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Obviously there will be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage inside. The speculated price is $920, which is too much for the starting version. Around $600 feels more realistic.
The device will measure 152.7 x 70 x 8.6 mm, but the thickness grows to 11.5 mm with the camera bump. I can’t quite tell a selling point here, but we may end up with one of the most compact phones of the year 2022, so that’s… something.
