Motorola is officially joining the ultra-thin smartphone race. After Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple’s iPhone Air, the next contender aiming for sleek minimalism is the Motorola Edge 70 — known in China as the Moto X70 Air. A new 30-second teaser video, shared by leaker Evan Blass, gives us our clearest look yet at Motorola’s elegant new approach to design.
The footage highlights a handset that looks impossibly thin, reportedly under 6 mm thick, positioning it right between Samsung’s 5.8 mm S25 Edge and Apple’s 5.6 mm iPhone Air. The clip showcases three Pantone-certified finishes — two shades of green and one blue variant — all defined by smooth curvature and an almost architectural precision in how metal, glass, and composite layers merge together.
One frame zooms into the camera bump, revealing a refined triple-lens system likely composed of wide, ultra-wide, and 2x telephoto optics. Another focuses on the battery housing, hinting at a silicon-carbon (Si/C) power cell, suggesting that Motorola may have found a way to balance thinness with endurance.
Even the side buttons follow the slim design language, nearly flush with the chassis. The result feels more like an industrial design study than a typical smartphone — an exploration of how far modern engineering can push minimalism without compromise.
If Motorola really manages to dip below that 6 mm mark, the Edge 70 could become not only the brand’s most striking design experiment in years but also the thinnest mainstream Android phone of 2025.
