Motorola is preparing to introduce the Edge 70 Fusion, and its design story is becoming clearer with every new leak. The latest renders, published by leakster Evan Blass, showcase the device in several colors beyond the previously seen Pantone Country Air and Pantone Silhouette finishes. These new images also reaffirm the smartphone’s overall aesthetic, including the angular camera island and the textile-inspired texture on the back.
The Edge 70 Fusion is internally known as “Avenger,” a name tied to earlier leaks that also detailed the hardware platform. According to those reports, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset and comes with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Storage is expected at 256GB, while the battery capacity is rumored to be a hefty 7,000 mAh, supported by 68W wired charging.
On the front, the device reportedly features a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 5,200 nits peak brightness. Protection is said to be provided by Gorilla Glass 7i. The selfie camera would be a 32MP shooter, while the main rear sensor is expected to be a 50MP unit from Sony’s LYTIA lineup.
As with the standard Edge 70, the Fusion model aims for a slim profile, but the large 7,000 mAh battery suggests it won’t match the 6 mm thickness of its sibling. Even so, if Motorola manages to keep the body under 8 mm at its thinnest point – excluding the camera bump – it would represent an impressive balance between endurance and ergonomics for this upper mid-range class.
The Edge 70 Fusion is rumored to launch with Android 16 out of the box and receive three major OS upgrades. Durability is also part of the package, with expected IP68 and IP69 ratings, plus MIL-STD-810H certification.
