The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has dominated the leaks for the S25 series so far, but now it’s the Galaxy S25+ making waves with a fresh appearance in leaked photos. While major design overhauls weren’t expected, there are a few details worth diving into.
The Big Surprise: A New Button?
One standout feature in the leaked images is an extra button, which many speculate could be a dedicated camera control, similar to what we’ve seen on the OPPO Find X8 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. But wait—don’t get too excited. Upon closer inspection, the button-like element on the side edge appears to actually house an mmWave antenna, a feature exclusive to the U.S. variant.
This quashes the initial assumption that Samsung might be following Apple’s lead, and to be fair, a dedicated button could feel redundant given the camera functions already assignable to the Galaxy’s Action Button.
What Else?
On the design front, the S25+ sticks to a familiar aesthetic. Even the large metallic rings around the camera lenses, first seen on the S25 Ultra, remain unchanged. And according to rumors, the S25 and S25+ are expected to share the same camera sensors as their S24 and S24+ predecessors. So, don’t expect much innovation in this department either.
Launch Date and Specs
The Galaxy S25 series is rumored to debut on January 22, and it will reportedly be powered exclusively by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The S25 Ultra might even come with extra RAM, adding a performance edge to the lineup.
While the leaks don’t scream revolutionary upgrades, the Galaxy S25+ seems to be a solid continuation of Samsung’s design philosophy—polished and functional, with some region-specific quirks.
